We have just come back from a 2 night break and can say we had the most lovely time. The position of the property couldn't be better and the views from the room, fantastic. So nice to wake up to. The property is in easy reach of Sandown or Shanklin. The guest house is spotless and the hosts Alan and... More

My partner and I stayed at the Miclaran for 6 nights in October. Arriving after travelling from Australia, we were greeted by the delightful owners Sue and Alan who couldn't be more helpful and cheery. We were given room 8 which had, as I was later to find most of the rooms have, spectacular views. Waking up to it every... More

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Miclaran. Having booked an 'autumn special', we were treated to a delicious cream tea on arrival. This was such a nice way to spend the rainy afternoon, and made us glad we had skipped lunch that day as we were very full afterwards! We were made to feel very welcome by... More

The Miclaran is situated on the cliff top between Shanklin and Sandown .. There is a tarmac cliff path connecting both. For anyone without transport, there is an excellent bus service connecting all parts of the island - wonderful if you are fortunate enough to have a freedom bus pass ! Our first impression was very favourable thanks to a... More

Spent two nights here from sat 31st aug to mon 2nd sept. We were impressed with our room with a stunning room of the sea and sandown pier (room 11 at the top) Alan and Sue were most hospitable and really trying to make a go of things in their first year of business. Having spent previous holidays in huge... More

It was our first time to the Isle of Wight and to this Hotel. The view was amazing from our room and the breakfast was brilliant and the hosts were very welcoming. However the shower in our room was a trickle in the morning and very poor standard. The walls were very thin and due to this we could hear... More

First visit to the Miclaran, but we'll stay again next time we visit the Isle of Wight. Located up on the cliffs between Shanklin and Sandown, the views over the garden and the sea are stunning on a clear day. The accomodation was excellent clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was very well prepared and of a very high standard.
