Arrived on Sat evening, welcome was very friendily. The room was lovely with plenty of room. The bathroom was very well designed and had been done very professionally. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the room was warm and a typical farmhouse feel. Slept like babies. Breakfast was hot and catered to ALL needs, nothing was a problem. The... More

We stayed at Oakenholt for a night during a break to Wales and would happily return again. The farm is tucked away in a quiet location and boasts a pretty garden. Our room was basic and comfortable, it was quite a small space but not in an uncomfortable way and had a nice view of the garden. The hosts (I'm... More

We stayed here on Saturday night between a visit to Chester and Snowdonia. We were in the converted barn, used for S/C folks. Nice warm welcome, the essentials pointed out, then we were left alone with the "any questions, please ask".. perfect ! There's a guide in the room with directions and recommendations to local eateries.. and we were told... More

We had a very pleasant stay here and made use of the gorgeous gardens with a glass of wine and good conversation. The room was pretty basic and old fashioned with a tiny bathroom but it had lots of character and we slept well enough. The breakfast was nice and hot and is served in a very traditional dark wood farmhouse... I wouldn' t recommend this B&B to anybody. The welcome wasn't very warm at all. The room was dirty (e.g. dead insects on the floor, the dustbin was dirty, dirty mugs on the tea tray, dirty bathroom); there was no bathroom door, just a folding door which didn't close properly; the door to our room couldn't be locked. The breakfast... More

Stayed for one night during a business trip, as it was handy for Flint. Arrived/departed by bus, which worked out great as there were bus stops very close to the bottom of the main driveway (no need to walk up Oakenholt Lane, as I did when I arrived!). For those who arrive by car, there's adequate parking. The accommodation was... More

A lovely, friendly, very welcoming place to stay. Very clean & comfortable accomodation, excellent breakfast aswell as self-catering facilities. Jenny was very accomodating - allowing us to arrive late. It was a pleasure staying there over the New Year, next best thing to staying with family.

Having read 'mixed' reviews my wife and I were a little uncertain prior to our arrival. We need not have worried. Jenny made us extemely welcome and was a mine of information on the local area and places to visit. Our accommodation was roomy, quiet, very comfortable and in excellent condition. To top it off, breakfasts served in the beautiful... More

My partner and i stayed here at short notice, where initially they were fully booked, Jenny (apparently the bossy owner) went out of her way to fit us in. My partner, she is very shy indeed, but commented to me that Jenny was pure joy to speak to. Both Jenny and her hubby (he's full of fun by the way)... More

Though I had booked a single room I was put into an apartment (converted farm building) on arrival. I would say that the apartment was not 4 star standard. The room was noisy from family living next door. There was no biscuits with the tea/coffee tray which seemed a bit mean for £40 per night. The shower also was in... More
