Such a shame as owner has obviously tried to update place but would have been better to spend money on cleaning and fixtures rather than spa bath which wasn't very clean, old fashioned furniture and towels which were yellow when they should have been white. No remote for TV, dirty windows didn't help. That said, breakfast was ok and bed... More

My wife and 3yr old daughter had an overnight stay at the Bayswell Hotel. First impressions were promising. Externally the hotel looked lovely from the outside, we also had anexcellent welcoming from a male member of staff. Our rooms were poor: Child bed was horrific. Leaky shower and urine stains under the toilet seat. This hotel is not for families.... More

We spent 3 nights in room 1,which has superb views over the Firth of Forth and Bass rock. Easy access to the John Muir Way,town centre and a Golf Course.Traditional food in the restaurant was well cooked from fresh ingredients( steak and fish very good), and the breakfast was good ( I had a good choice of cereal, fruit and scrambled... We didn't stay here, we had lunch here today, six of us - 3 couples. The first thing we noticed was that everything was BROWN! The bar was brown, brown walls, brown curtains, brown seats ditto the restaurant (although the view out of the window was wonderful) and the lounge was also mostly brown. The menu was unexciting but at... More

room super great view bed comfortable and staff very helpful. Evening meal good well cooked and tasty. Breakfast was the opposite. Menu had fruit apricots/prunes no sign of these! Cereal only cocopops, not a good choice for a 67 yr old! The cooked breakfast was adequate (as suggested by other reviewers) but dont have the scrambled egg! All in all... More

I stayed here on 6th April with my wife and two older teenage children. We had two rooms, a twin at the front of the hotel (room 5) which was comfortable with flat screen tv and an amazing Jacuzzi bath with tons of hot water and room 1 which overlooked the Forth and Bass Rock which was just brilliant.. We attended a family wedding in Dunbar this weekend, and booked hotels etc six months ago to ensure we had rooms during this busy resort period. On Friday my family drove six hours to the Rossborough hotel to find it boarded up: the owners closed it in December, and never bothered to tell any customers....so we had no room for... More

What a treat, an establishment local to us serving high quality produce, sourced from the surrounding area. We were greeted by a very jolly barman, and enjoyed a few drinks and great chat before being taken through to the conservatory just before our meal was served. The meal was delicious, I had chicken with tagliatelle in a mushroom sauce, my... More

Just eaten and I am praying that my son doesn't die of E-Coli or some other bacteria from an undercooked burger. However he barely managed to eat it with the unbalanced rickety table. Two out of four meals were excellent and the service was top rate. Sadly Louise is leaving...she has been the backbone and mainstay of that hotel for... More

Thank you very much for your comments. We accept that a homemade burger of prime Scottish beef steak should be well done when given to younger people. and we replaced it immediately. We were unaware that the table had a faulty stabilizer foot and would certainly have moved you had you brought it to our attention. We have begun a... More
