We stayed in room 22 (hot tub suite). I unfortunately can't comment on the hot tub as due to health reasons couldn't use it in the end. The views were beautiful. The large bed was very comfy. Unfortunately the shower was a bit weak, as I have thick hair this can be quite annoying. The breakfast was lovely with a... More

Rooms for single travellers can be disappointing but I've never had one quite so awful as the room I had for three nights at The Bayswell. A really tiny room, a single bed, single wardrobe,a desk and chair. No bedside table, no armchair. The television was on the wall parallel to the bed so difficult to watch - and impossible to... More

Dear guest thanks for for your comments. We are undergoing room refurbishments at the hotel so we appologise if your single room did not meet expectations. I understand the duty manager offered you an alternative room that had been refurbished but you decided to stay in the single room as it had a sea view. We use locally sourced produce... More

Stayed for one night Friday 22 august. Have become a regular visitor to the hotel and have had some really nice times. On this occasion I was in the same room as I had previously room 17 a single room. There was a loose toilet seat and the spa bath didn't work the last time. To my surprise the same... More

I stayed here on 22/08/14 for one night. I stayed in room 17 but carpet looked as though it had not been hoovered. Cobwebs at the top of the window and the radiator at the window was dangerous and falling off I also found an old mince pie in the drawer that was in a bag and was all mouldy.... More

We are self driving around Scotland and were originally staying in Edinburgh, but after looking at the prices of accommodation, decided to stay in Dunbar instead. We booked into The View Bayside Hotel for two nights and were lucky to get Room 12. It was fantastic. It was a huge room of 10 metres long, gorgeous bay windows that looked... More

We stayed for 3 nights and there was no chef so consequently we had to eat out for all of our meals bar breakfast. We asked for a croissant at breakfast and burnt it so had another one. The next morning the burnt croissant was out on the breakfast table! The room was dated and the TV had not been... More

We stayed at the Bayswell in August 2014 on our way to the Highlands. The hotel is in a good location in easy walking distance of the town with fantastic views out to sea. We had a sea view room which was large, clean and comfortable with a large en-suite with bath and shower. There did appear to be a... More

Stayed here for one night whilst babysitting and found it very nice. The staff couldn't be more helpful. The room we had faced the street but that was fine as it's quiet anyway. Nice bar area and breakfast is great. In my opinion, the only downside is that the place needs a face lift really. The carpets and decor in... More

We stayed at the Bayswell Hotel, Dunbar, for one night on our way up to the Highlands of Scotland at the end of July. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk into town and yet located far enough away from the hustle and bustle, right next to a coastal footpath. We had the deluxe 4 poster room, which was... More

The view alone was enough to make me want to come back. Add to that the amazingly friendly staff and I can not say enough about this hotel! I was so tired when I arrived that I didn't feel like looking for food (which often happens when I travel since I tend to do long trips with a lot of... More
