We are just back from another nice stay at the Royal Macintosh. We arrived around 1.00pm on Sunday and were given room NO.10, the room looks out the front of the hotel and must be the best room in the hotel, the room was massive with a large toilet, with a large bed new tv and plenty shampoo/shower gel and... Before I start, the small group of ladies who appear to be "jack of all trades" worked extremely hard. Whoever owns this hotel needs to invest some money in the place. Marston Inns are opening a 26 bed Inn near the Pine Marten in Dunbar - so I would get your act together. Towels - snow white and sheets clean,... More

Stayed one night, not sure who would review this as excellent or faultless. Staff are overworked with loads of differing roles. The reception is a serving hatch through to the bar, receptionist serves behind bar, and waits on. Staff pleasant enough all things considered. Nice big room, but very tatty, 90's décor/curtains tie back hanging off wall, cheap flat packed... More

I went to this restaurant on several occaisions and I enjoyed it very much evry time. The staff are very polite and efficient. During the week on certain nights over 60's enjoy 20% discount on food. The food was lovely and from a small but varied menu. So far this is the best place in Dunbar to eat and I'll... More

Stayed for one night on a recent touring trip, traditional decor, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and, if it's your tipple, there were over 50 whiskeys behind the bar to choose from. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Belated thanks for an excellent stay for just one night in June. Booked 10 mins before arrival after quick check of Tripadvisor. Wonderfully central, super handy for the rail station and train to Edinburgh. Might be the largest double room I've ever stayed in, with huge dormer window to the front. Staff were so friendly and helpful, and the man... More

It's hard to say why this hotel is good but whatever it is it works. The staff are friendly, the room was good, breakfast was superb and nothing seemed a problem if one occurred. It could do with maybe a tidy up but in general staying here was as pleasant as it could get and we will do again.

Loved staying here! Fantastic huge room, comfy big bed, huge sofa, nice big picture windows. Slight criticism that windows couldn't open very far but not a problem. Spotless bathroom, plenty of toiletries and towels. Friendly young staff, nothing was too much to ask, really nice atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, lovely big portion of Scottish cooked breakfast and plenty of toast... More

Stayed for one night in August whilst visiting a friend for their 50th birthday party. We arrived and found a space in the car park and were welcomed by a lot of guests sitting outside enjoying the sunsine is a spacious area. The bedroom was nothing special but the bed was good sized and the room was clean and equipted... More
