All the staff were helpful & the views from the bedroom over the rugged coast @ Dunbar were wonderful. The rooms had been recently renovated & were good value for money, very clean & modern. We ate in the restaurant at night & the food was excellent & well served. Breakfast was ample , hot & again well served. Only... More

Although first impressions are a bit of a let down- the building is shabby looking from the outside with broken drainpipes and a tired exterior, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the room. I don't know if they're all of a similar standard, but room 5 has obviously recently been refurbished... More

Not the best street appeal for this pub as it does look tired and a little run down as you arrive. Indeed the checkin had me wondering what to expect from my stay as I had to go into the back office to prepay my bill on my credit card. The helpful landlord helped me upstairs to my room that... I eat here regularly with friends and family. The food is great with a huge range of things from snacks to steaks and roast dinners. The staff are friendly and helpful and very accommodating. Place is always busy and quite rightly so! Reasonably priced and in central location for tourists and locals. Highly recommend!

Been to the Hillside often for food and always enjoyed it, today was no exception, 4 big hearty chicken wings for a starter follwed by a large serving of nachos, my wife enjoyed the soup and a excellent all day scottish breakfast served with tattie scone and square sausage (always a preference to links and hash browns), everything arrived quickly... We stayed overnight at the Hillside Hotel so we could attend our friends' wedding in Dunbar. Warmly welcomed on arrival and shown to our rooms - very impressed with the decor and facilities, fab shower! After a comfortable night's sleep - and a last drink or two at the hotel bar after the wedding! - went to the elegant and... More

We called in here around 6pm on Saturday for a meal. Unfortunately they were fully booked, but then a gentleman came through from the office and asked us if he fitted us in, could we give a table back by 7.30. We agreed to this no problem and were shown to our table. The decor in the dining room is... More

I was the transport for the baggage of 6 companions walking the coastal/john muir way. I rang the Hillside before arriving and they were happy for me to drop the bags off with a lot of help from the manager and have access to the rooms from early afternoon. We had a sea view. The bed was clean and comfy.... More

Had a lovely meal today. The chicken and creme cheese wrap was beautiful, nicely priced and really good service. I have ate there many of times and would go back! one of the best places for food in dunbar.
