This started out as one of those business trips where I was booked into a hotel only because two colleagues had already booked. I shouldn't have worried, as it is a really good traditionally themed hotel that I'd stay at again. On arrival the reception staff here were very friendly. I was a last minute booking so had to make... More

Sort out the wifi to enable business men to work and ensure theirs a desk to work on and this would be a 5/5 stay. The bedrooms and functional and I had a room with a coastal view which was super. Eat in the Restuarant both nights and it was fantastic. The overall service from the staff was exemplary and... More

My sister and I loved staying here - we arrived for our final night's stay of a Newcastle-Edinburgh cycle trip, and it was the first day we had been rained on... We arrived before our room was ready, but were very well looked after with a free pot of tea. The Rocks has some of the friendliest service I have... More

Cannot speak more highly of The Rocks. Had not pre-planned this trip and took off for a break, and certainly fell on our feet further to a chance call-in. Set at end of a dead end road so no traffic, overlooking the crashing sea and cliffs. The welcome could not have been more friendly and a window seat was swiftly... More

This really is a restaurant with rooms. Lovely staff, gorgeous food - swordfish, local mussels and venison all highlights - good location near seafront, but our room was shabby. Our window wouldn't open and despite asking for it to be fixed, nothing happened. Mattress was rather lumpy and linen tired and torn, if they got the rooms right then this... More

Our room was quiet, facing a huge soccer field. It was clean though small. Hotel staff was very helpful with questions, suggestions, and friendly attitude. Our evening meal in the restaurant was quite delicious. Staff was justifiably proud of the local brew which was excellent. Our complimentary breakfast was ample, tasty, with many choices. Pamela, our morning server and hotel... More

While travelling in Scotland this summer, we took a look at the pleasent litlle port of Dunbar. It was Sunday and it was very quite. We took a walk along the water front, which takes you along the cliffs and the old Castle, which is now in ruines. Very picturesque. We then looked for somewhere to have lunch, and were... More

Stayed here for a single night on the Coast & Castles cycle route. We arrived at about 18:15..soaked..but to a warm Scottish welcome. The bikes were safely stowed away & a table had been reserved for us. It needed to be..the place was rammed. The evening meal was very good. We had some great seafood and perfect venison. The puddings... More

Stopped for lunch and was impressed, good lunch time menu, really nice setting and stunning view, the service was fine and the food was of a decent standard. I would recommended a visit to anyone in Dunbar.

I must admit, I've had warmer welcomes, having said that, it was the person behind the bar who was actually busy with customers both serving drinks and taking restaurant bookings when I first went in. Having said that, it went something like "Are you here to book in?", "Yes please" I said, enthusiastically after my 5 hour drive. "Follow me",... More
