We stayed at The Rocks for two nights when visiting family in Dunbar, having enjoyed meals there in the past. Booking by phone with James was easy and friendly and on arrival we were delighted with our room (5) - clean, spacious with a very nice view over the playing fields to the rear of the hotel; very comfortable twin... We celebrated our Golden Wedding today 21st August with a Lunch at The Rocks. There were 10 of us, dad John, mum Grace, son, John, d-in-law, Michelle, grand children Callum and Evie. daughter, Fiona, s-in-law Ian, grand children Matthew and Scott. We had a private room, the service was above and beyond expectation, everything was just perfect. No intrusive waiters,... More

This is the third time I have stayed here whilst in Scotland with work and it's a lovely hotel to stay in. The staff are very welcoming, the rooms are lovely and in keeping with the age of the building, and the food is wonderful!

I arrived in the evening and was met by a friendly face after a long business day. The hotel was very attractive from the front garden through the entrance. A celebration was in the function suite and much hilarity was heard. I asked for a large glass of wine which was there in a jiffy and retired to my room.... More

I was recommended the Rocks by a client while on a recent business trip. This is the best recommendation for a restaurant that I have had for many years. Lovely food in a very pleasant environment with sevice that was just right. I look forward to my next visit to Dunbar and would go out of my way to eat... More

Long before "the rocks",I was a chamber maid/waitress in the hotel. I then celebrated my graduation here. A few years later I had my 40th birthday celebration, then recently had the wake of my dear mum. A lovey hotel, great food and a lovely setting. Highly recommend. Never tire of this place.

This family run hotel is kept in an old style and its like stepping into a film from the forties. Even the music is from that time. All the rooms are in all shapes and sizes which makes it a unik experience. The restaurant is sooo cozy and all the staff are both welcoming, friendly and very serviceminded - and... More

This was the first place we stayed in Scotland, and definitely the best. It's a beautiful old building in a fantastic spot--the view of the ocean is incredible (you must get an ocean view room!). There's a walking path along the water and you'll see why the inn is named The Rocks! Our room was excellent, the food was wonderful,... More

We stayed at the Rocks a few years ago and had positive and negative experiences so we decided on a return trip. This time we booked room 4, great views, spa type bath, very comfortable and relaxing. The mattress had what appeared to be a down topping on it and we found that in the hot weather it was too... More

We were treated like royalty and given the table for two... More
