I fail to understand how this hotel achieves 4 stars. The rooms are small, tatty and need refurbished. Staff were difficult to find and not particularly friendly. The location is great with the town within easy walking distance. more

My husband booked a 2-night dinner b&b deal for us after seeing this hotel's website. It looked as if it had lovely rooms and pleasant views, and the room available was described as a 'premium' room. just spent another couple of nights at this great hotel can not fault it. The staff are so friendly and nothing is a bother, rooms may not be the largest but how long do you actually spend in the rooms. Food excellent and such a lovely atmosphere in this hotel.I would go back in a minute. more

Booked a late deal 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast for under 200 pounds. Fantastic value for money. The Staff were very pleasant , helpful without being intrusive. Had the worst meal experience I have had in a long time at this venue. Dubious goat's cheese, no walnut in the beetroot and walnut salad, caramelised onions weren't, duck confit incredibly offensive, staff constantly leaning over clientele to clear up thing whilst still eating. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night in September to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. This is a lovely old property which has been adapted to provide en suite accommodation.
