We stayed at The Sands hotel in June and August and would highly recommend it. We stayed in a family room which was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was cooked by Lorraine and was superior in quality and utterly delicious. The hotel has a well stocked bar which is reasonably priced and Brian is always available to serve you your... We have been staying at The Sands with Brian, Lorraine and Jonathan for well over 12 years. Everytime we have been their guests we have felt more than welcome and have become friends too over the years. No-one can fault their commitment to giving you an enjoyable holiday experience. Very clean accommodation, hearty breakfast and good company in the evenings... More

Just returned from a 4 night break with my son(17) and mum over (60!). The Sands is well located at the end of the Esplanade looking out over the bay but within walking distance of the bus and train stations so no need to use the car until we left. This B&B is bright, airy and spacious with the reception,... More

Stayed for 8 nights in single room, everything lovely, from being greeted at the door by Brian, who without hesitation, got my case out the boot. Shown my room, which was large for a single. The location was ideal, hardly used the car. The whole place was clean and light. Breakfast delicious. And to top it off, in the evenings,... More

We stayed at The Sands Hotel for one night on the way home from holidays. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome at the front door by Brian, Lorraine and Jonathan. It is perfectly located on the beach front and within easy walking distance to town so was able to leave the car parked in the front drive. The... More

Back from a weekend at The Sands in Paignton, as always-an excellent stay. Super place-friendly, well located with great views and right by the sea and the town/high street. Every aspect is top notch-friendly welcome, cleanliness, the food and having a relaxing drink in the bar on an evening. Thanks for a peaceful and relaxing weekend break. Home from home-it... More

My husband and I decided to flee our family home (leaving our teenage kids behind) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We asked for a room with a view and that is certainly what we got, looking out across the bay each morning, was just wonderful and so relaxing. Our ensuite room was extremely spacious, well decorated, lots of wardrobe and... More

Just had three brilliant days at The Sands Hotel. Brian, Lorraine and Jonathan (not forgetting Scooby) made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely sea view room overlooking Paignton and all the way to Torquay. Breakfasts were lovely, hotel room clean and bed very comfortable. The evenings spent in the bar were great fun and we met some lovely... More

This was our 7th visit to the Hotel and I am pleased to say that once again the standard was brilliant. Brian managed to find us a room with a sea view at short notice for our 5 night stay. Nothing is too much trouble for them and it was like being at home, so much so that I fell... More
