We stayed at the Dainton Hotel this weekend and my opinion is that it's just OK, It was nothing special, but it was clean.

A few niggily things included a horrible smell of grease in the entrance of the hotel which sometimes wafted up to the landing / bedroom area. Considering it is classed as a 'hotel' there is only a restaurant atttached which is only open at limited times and limited days and they can only serve alcohol with food so you can't have that night-cap! It was very quiet despite being on a busy road and the rooms were clean although the bed was very uncomfortable.
It was as you'd expect from a 2 star hotel - but VERY expensive at £130 for a couple for 2 nights B & B. You could quite easily find a smaller run B & B and of better quality for less money than this.
The breakfast was OK - a small cooked breakfast was offered and a small selection of cereals. You had to specifically ask if you wanted something different like scrambled eggs on toast... more
