Freda made us feel very welcome, and was most helpful in offering and supplying gluten free vegetarian meals for my two nieces. We had dinner on our first night, and really enjoyed it, especially the fish pie! Breakfast was excellent, and again Freda was very conscious of distinguishing between normal and gluten free toast. Good parking, and close to the... More

Freda & Steve made us feel very welcome on arrival. Tea was served within 10 minutes of arrival. Rooms were readily available even though we arrived early lunch time. Both our rooms were suitable to both myself and grandson whilst my wife had her own. Nothing is too much trouble for our hosts. Breakfast comes fast and served with a... More

The Clifton is the best place to stay in Paignton. We have been back for the second year running and would not consider staying in any other accommodation. Freda and Steve are warm, welcoming hosts who are always pleased to welcome families with young children. The accommodation is clean and well maintained providing a comfortable stay. The breakfast (cooked by... More

This is a fab hotel,we had a family room and double room, both were light and airy and spotless. Freda and Steve were most welcoming and the breakfasts of a morning were delicious. Its a stones throw from the beach and all of the shops.I would highly recommend The Clifton!!

We stayed in two separate twin rooms, both were very clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is lovely with a very homely feel. Breakfast was wonderful, even making one of our party a vegetarian cooked breakfast! So close to local shops, bars and the beach. But on a peaceful road. Freda could not of been more welcoming and happily gave... More

The hotel is close to the sea front providing a great base to explore Paignton. If you stay here, you are guaranteed a very warm welcome (tea and coffee provided on arrival was most welcomed after a long drive) and comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and the shower is powerful - better than some hotels we have stayed in.... More

If you're looking for a guesthouse within a stones throw of the hustle & bustle of Torbay road, but equally within walking distance of the Esplanade then The Clifton fits the bill. Service was welcoming, warm and very hospitable, however our family room was relatively basic in terms of creature comfort, most certainly could have done with a little TLC... More

Fabulous, faultless & so very, very friendly. Freda & Steve could not have been more welcoming & helpful. Greeted with a cup of tea on arrival. Our room was spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, bars & shops but still far enough for nighttime noise not to be a... More
