We had to move room due to the busy road but the on duty manager kindly sorted it for us. He seemed very friendly but some of the other staff seemed more interested in getting off duty. The dinner we had was good, the lamb was tasty and cooked beautifully. Breakfast was good too. Shame the service let them down,... More

A good little hotel, slap bang in the centre of Wigan close to the shopping areas. It's a clean honest little place with friendly staff but very spartan, basic and functional. A few pictures on the walls and a bit of decor would improve the place. Having said that it does represent good value for money without the frills.

I stayed at the Mercure in Wigan for 2 nights and paid around the £90 mark. The hotel is fairly large and well kept with ample parking and close to the Wigan centre. The staff on the whole were brilliant although we did have to keep asking for a staff member to serve us at the bar as it wasn't... More

The bedroom was very clean and had everything you would expect from a hotel but on entering the room it was freezing...put the heater on max and left it on all night but made no difference was still cold when I woke up. Breakfast .... What can I say.. No plates, no... More

Stayed here for three and a half weeks due to a course. The staff are lovely! The place is a little shabby. The odd numbered rooms are on the road and extremely noisy even with silicone ear plugs. Quite often towels were not replaced. The menu is great but it would have been better if it had changed weekly rather... More

Thank you for your review and your constructive comments. I was especially pleased to read the praise that you gave to our staff, which was very welcome. Being a town centre hotel it is of course, unavoidable to have some background traffic noise and, had you mentioned this, we would have done our utmost to move you to a quieter... More

I stayed in this hotel on business for several days. Check in was fast with polite staff. The hotel is located in a very undesirable area and most people would feel uneasy venturing out after dark. The rooms are clean and basic but the ones on the road side are very noisy. The beds are not the most comfortable you... More

I was obviously extremely concerned to read your review and am very sorry that you were disappointed with Breakfast. I have discussed your review with my Head Chef as this is not acceptable and certainly not to our usual high standards. Regarding the hotel's location, I can assure you that none of our guests experience any problems either entering or... More
