Totally worth the 60 pounds (2.04.09), we had huge room with a lovely window seat loooking out onto the garden. The shower had great water pressure (which sadly was hard to come by) and the towels were nice and fluffy. Our meals in the restaurant were generous portions and very tastey, steak and mushroom pie and roast beef. We also... more

Stayed for a family reunion for a saturday night. A single traveller although I had a double room in the old main part of the house. This was a very pretty room, much more different than the more modern/bland rooms in the new block. Service was patchy. With a wedding there as well we moved to get out the way... more

We stayed here as part of a wedding party and, whilst the wedding reception was very enjoyable the acccommodation was awful. We normally stay at Headlam Hall when we are in this area and there is absolutely no comparison. Our "family room" cost £100 (including wedding discount) just £15 less than Headlam without discount. The front of the hotel is... more

A beautiful front and the hotel was decorated in a fairly grand but faded style. My single room was small but adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only negatives would be that there was no milk on my hospitality tray and no one at reception when i rang to ask for some. Biggest downer was that my shower... more

Rooms at first and second floor but no lift. My room was on second floor with dormer window. Facilities clean and functional if you remember to switch on shower heater. Furniture has character and bed was comfortable. Free WiFi, Hairdryer in room. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend for short stay for business / visiting but... more

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. The whole place needs some serious TLC and is not worth £75 a night. Drinks in the reception room were expensive (buy a pitcher of beer from the tavern next door and bring it into the room that they use for the weddings!). On the plus side the food was nice... more

I stayed here for a friends wedding night at the beginning of November. The outside looks lovely, an old country house, not very big but very cosy & traditional. The lady on reception was friendly if not a little disorganised! The entrance is very grand but as we made our way to our room on the 2nd floor it became... more

If you love excellent food then the Elsmore restaurant is wonderful, the staff especially John, and food are reasonably priced and wondeful. On the other hand if you want a peaceful nights sleep in the Hallgarth manor hotel, your be out of luck. Having stayed a weekend there, i was kept awake till 12.30am and 2.30am friday night being the... more
