We went there for a Christmas shopping trip. The facilities are excellent given the price. The room was spotless, surprisingly large and comfortable. Check in/out was effortless. Plenty of parking. It is a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre (although you do take your life in your hands crossing the road outside the hotel - it is extremely busy).... More

Never stayed anywhere so noisy! Sambucca restaurant adjoining was booming noisy from 5pm through to heaven knows when. No one warned us. Even other travellers on the corridors were noisy. Breakfast is a pre packed takeaway and the "restaurant" was certainly not suitable for families. Although the room itself was although basic, as Travelodges are, it was spacious and clean... More

We stayed here for four nights while we were having work done at our home. We paid £40 per night and thought, for Durham, it was good value. We asked for a quiet room and were allocated room 202 in the annexe. The room was large, clean and fresh and the bed was so comfortable. Heating is by a heater... More

Paid £34 for a Saturday night in Durham very good deal, plenty of free parking and ten minutes walk to city centre. Recently modernised , comfort very good and noise reasonable. Beds very good and a top quality shower.

This is the 1st time we have stayed in Durham overnight. We stay in Travelodges quite a lot and I have got to say this was 1 of the best. A 10 minute walk into the centre of Durham with plenty to do when you get there. The guy on the desk was really pleasant and asked me if I needed... More

We have stayed in the hotel at the same time, 3 years in a row. This time we had 3 rooms. All great, couldn't fault them. Exceptional guy on reception desk who went out of his way to help us out. We will be back!

While not disagreeing with many of the other positive comments, there was a major security problem on my arrival. Because of the layout it is not possible for taxis to drive up to the door. The taxi driver, presumably on the basis of normal practice, drove round the back and under an archway that splits the ground floor of the... More

The hotel occupies Durham's original station, closed as not so convenient a mile out. There is a brick annexe behind the block nearest roundabout. Reception friendly and honest about next door Sambuca restaurant being a bit loud. The annexe was the opposite and I overslept! Rooms have what you expect with a decent TV although lip synchronising is a problem.... More

First time in a Travelodge and was very pleased at the cleanliness and standard of the rooms. Certainly worth visiting again however the 30 mins free wifi is miserly and not acceptable in these days. In addition, despite only registering (less than 2 mins on the system) then returning to the hotel some time later, i was told my 30... More
