This was a great stay! The B&B was quirky showing a lot of personality! Slept well even though you could hear the pub as a few earlier reviews state this didn't bother us as we'd been that busy our heads hit the pillow and we were out for the count. In a brilliant location which was easy to find and... More

Stayed here 24-26 July. Lovely quirky B&B great rooms clean and tidy.5 mins walk from centre so easy access to Cathedral and Castle etc. Only downside very noisy due to pub opposite and cobbled streets but if you do your research you know in advance so didn't spoil it for us. Great breakfast and big shout out to the lovely... More

Travelodge seriously let us down. Zoe at The Georgian Town House was absolutely fantastic and sorted us out when we were left stranded by Travelodge. We go to Durham every year. We will never go to Travelodge again. We have already booked into The Georgian Town House for next year. Lovely B&B and special staff.

We stayed here for two nights while visiting my daughter at Uni. First time we have stayed here. It was fully booked last time we tried. Overall I would say it is very good and quite reasonably priced for the location. The lady who runs it was very friendly. Room very clean and comfortable although a bit too fussy for... More

We needed accommodation for 3 adults. "No problem, have our Family Apartment. Two bedrooms and a separate bathroom." One of us is ceoliac. "No problem, we always have gluten free flour." I'd rather have bread? "Ah, but perhaps you might like a pancake for breakfast?" Turns out The Georgian Town House is a pancake cafe with B&B accommodation. Beautifully and... More

I booked out The Georgian Townhouse for my wedding in Durham last summer. I stayed there with my parents and bridesmaids and it was wonderful to have the space completely to ourselves and to also be able to feel like we were staying in a home rather than a hotel. Lucy and her team could not have been more helpful... More

We came here by way of a referral from a friend. We loved our stay- Barbara makes a great breakfast, the poached eggs are superb! The decor is eccentric, but we loved it, goes a long way than another plain and boring hotel!! Found out the pictures were taken by the owner and they were very interesting. The back room... More

Fab hotel and family running it! From the moment I stepped in it felt like home, with a lovely family to welcome me. Rooms were cute and cosy, nice addition of tea and coffee, lovely views, and as well as all this - the food was WONDERFUL. I haven't woken up to such delicious pancakes since my childhood. It is... Decor was eccentric and some what creepy. The hotel is situated next door to a noisy pub and across the road from another very noisy pub, as a result I spent a sleepless night at the Georgian Town House. Furthermore rowdy students seemed to walk past the hotel when returning from their night out. Apart from the a fabulous location... More

It is not so much the eccentric taste of the owners, and not even the joke of the shower which makes you choose between a trickle of scalding hot water or gushes of cold; the worst part was the owners' cantankerous attitude that was almost comic, especially in the context of the hospitality industry. At the end of our stay... More
