Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived to leaving we could not fault the service and friendliness of the staff. Given rooms 4 and 5, both corner rooms. The rooms were bright clean and had all the extras such as hairdryer, iron and ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. After a day out it was nice to... My friend picked out this pub as likely good location from which to tour the battlefields of the North East and what a pleasant surprise his choice was. An excellent location just 8 miles west of Durham and with good road links in a variety of directions. The room was clean and comfortable and always 'done' when we returned from... More

My wife and I stayed for the weekend to meet up with 3 other couples. The room was clean and comfortable and the food in the restaurant was great. The menu has a large selection of dishes which should appeal to everyone, especially large appetites :-). The full English breakfast was superb and plentiful, but the breakfast menu could benefit... Thankyou for a lovely Sunday Roast, Have been to the Kings Head several times and thought it was time for a review. The service from the girl's is always excellent, even when the place is very busy they are always efficient, smiling and always ask you is everything is ok. visited here for wednesday lunch about 1-15pm, the place was full, and we were told to grab a seat. There was one young waitress taking food orders and clearing tables, and another girl serving drinks, the place was heaving. We waited and waited and waited for a menu and to put our drinks order in, this was no fault of the... More

We regularly eat at The Kings Head and have never had any complaints, until this visit. The pub was very quiet, there was one family dining when we arrived, we were told which table to go to and our drinks arrived promptly. We both knew what we wanted, so didn't take a long time checking menus. We ordered our food... More

Went to Lanchester Village with the intention of going to Deano's Tratoria but arrived too early so decided to call into the King Head Hotel to kill a bit of time, ended up having a meal there and all I can say is "Brilliant" and the staff made the night so enjoyable
