A real pity, the hotel is nice and centrally located but when you try to use the leisure facilities, i.e. sauna, swimming pool etc the state of the place is appaling. A nice clean hotel, with helpful staff in a very central location. The breakfasts were good and the pool area was excellent. Our room was a bit cramped though and if the wardrobe door was open you couldn't get passed at all. Would definately go back and would quite happily recommend it. more

We stayed in the Royal County for a few nights in July. Our room, in the newer part, had a great view of the Cathedral. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. the television was a bit ancient by today's standards, but was fine.
