I have had the pleasure of staying here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed, first on my list if i need to travel to this part of England. In a rural area on the outskirts of Durham City it is an old farmhouse decorated in a style to suit, quiet with off road parking and a... More

Whilst the host cannot be faulted being very welcoming and friendly, the building itself needs a bit of attention. We loved the breakfast, which clearly had quality ingredients, and the room was spacious but the bed was too short for me, and the mattress was very soft so I can't say I slept well. Although the window was open when... More

We have stayed here twice and found Liz's welcome very good on both occasions. Rooms are roomy and bed comfortable. Quaint farmhouse decoration and a lovely old building. Breakfast is excellent with hot food and limited choice of cold buffet. The only problem is that this is out of Durham by a mile on a road with plenty of traffic... More

Stayed a for one night a while ago while visiting daughter when she was at Durham university. Converted farm with friendly landlady, off road parking, comfortable room and good breakfast. Short drive from Durham city.

We've had the opportunity to stay at Broom Farm Guesthouse for two nights over the August bank holiday weekend. We were actually booked in with another B&B however, due to unforeseen circumstances they had to re-book us with Liz, but we were far from disappointed! The character home was located in a quiet location just outside of Durham where there... More

Unfortunately our surprise visit to Durham seemed doomed as our usual accommodation was fully booked! However, Broom House was recommended to us and as luck would have it accommodation was available. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. An old converted farmhouse with bags of history and stories to be told on the great patio area whilst having... More

Stayed for 2 nights (last weekend in August). I partly agree with some comments about it being 'dated' , but really you have to look at the fact that it is an old converted farm house, so it is old but has character. The landlady was very friendly and the breakfast was very very nice ! Lots of choice and... More

Our stop for the night at Broom House and White's Restaurant was an extremely pleasant surprise. The house with its history and remodeling was amazing. The dining experience was beyond words. But our favorite spot was the great patio for happy hour and tea. The hosts were so accommodating with tea upon our early arrival. Of all our Coast to... More

We booked all four bedrooms for my daughter to be married in Durham (away from home) in February. We could not have chosen a better place to stay, and the bride was delighted to be married from such a lovely family home. We were made so welcome and the owners did everything and more to make our time there very... More
