Stayed here for my birthday and it is very nice, room was lovely but I would warn you if you are tall. Bijoux loft does give it away but just passing on advice. It is just a short walk into Durham. Breakfast is excellent, you won't leave hungry. staff can't do enough for you. Will be back for sure. Another piece... More

We stayed in the Ruby Room and although the pictures online look gorgeous the room doesn't quite live up to it I'm afraid. The bathroom is beautiful and so is the bed (very comfy) but everything just felt tatty and in need of a spruce up. The chairs had beading falling off them and our bath plug had been broken... More

Visited today for lunch. Excellent value, three course lunch for £16, gorgeous food and wonderful staff. They were really helpful and exceptionally lovely; particularly Linda! Thank you, we had a lovely afternoon and have already booked the next visit.

Had our wedding here on the 19th April with exclusive use of the townhouse and what can I say everything was amazing the venue looked stunning, all the food was perfect with 20 steaks all served at the same time cooked to perfection as guests had requested, the staff couldn't have been more attentive, and all our guests enjoyed all... Hotel is small and just out of city center. The jardin room is small ,set a little way from the main hotel with a small decking area with hot tub so very quite and private. All the staff were lovely and service was good.

We stayed in the le jardin room, lovely room with hot tub, nicely furnished and clean (although few hairs found in bedding). The grounds keeper was there on arrival (checked in at 16:30) he said he did not know anyone was booked in and was busy doing repair works, not a problem but I think there must of been a... More

Fire alarm went off at around 2 am apparently due to another guest running spa bath and creating steam. We didn't know it wasn't a real fire until we assembled downstairs. The duty staff member had trouble resetting the panel so deafening alarm continued for at least 10 minutes. There was no separate fire escape, so we had to go... More

Me and my partner stayed in the Le Jardin room last night and were pretty disappointed to be honest. Staff were lovely, couldnt of been more helpful but the room was tiny, unclean and not at all worth £250. I wanted to book a romantic night away and thought paying that much would mean it would of been an outstanding... More

Hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of main attractions. The room was small but very comfortable. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. My husband and I ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent and not too expensive.
