We were so pleased with the location, the high standards of service and quality of our room. We were made to feel very welcome by Craig on arrival n during our stay. The breakfast n service in the dining room was excellent. We are definitely coming back to stay n explore Durham again.

We stayed here last week as an anniversary treat to ourselves. The place is charming, with imaginative lighting and décor. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive; the food in the restaurant was of a good standard and the breakfast was particularly nice. We stayed in the Amethyst room, which was sumptuous and cosy. Perhaps a bit too cosy,... More

We stayed here as a large group for my niece's 21st birthday celebrations. My husband and I were staying in the penthouse suite. The rooms in the suite are light and airy with a fantastic modern bathroom that certainly has the wow factor-huge egg shaped bath and the biggest showerhead I've ever seen. It was a hot weekend so the... More

Stopped in for a coffee with two friends having met up in Durham. We were recommended Gadds - and it was a great recommendation - the surroundings were different to what you would expect in Durham, but very comfortable - and the coffee was really good. We were not rushed by the staff, and sat and chatted for quite some... More

Gadds Town House has it all. Great position, attentive staff, interestingly individual decor and great food. But when you pay £600 plus for two nights in a hotel in Durham you might expect to having working wifi? When I asked about it I was told oh - it doesn't reach the garden rooms. Come up to the bar! Had anyone... More

My son graduated yesterday and we booked lunch at Gadds Townhouse in Durham City. We turned up early but it was absolutely no problem to the lovely staff there. We were shown to our table in the luxurious surroundings of the dining room and ordered drinks from our delightful waitress Linda. They have a three course lunch menu for £15... More

Stayed as a couple mlfor a night in June in the garden lodge. The room was beautiful, extremely clean and had gorgeous decor. The hot tub was a great feature and the added extras were a lovely touch! Friendly staff and a good location, didn't sample the food but it looked lovely!

Went away with my boyfriend for a midweek break. We stayed at Gadds in the Le Jardin Room, what a fantastic room it was. Lovely comfortable bed and a wonderful power shower. Enjoyed the evening in the hot tub drinking the complementary wine that was left for us in our hamper. Had a lovely meal at Gadds as well, the... More

Having visited Northumberland we decided to break the journey home by visiting Durham and we booked in at Gadds. We were in The Cruise room which had been created to resemble a berth in a cabin and indeed that is what it felt like. The room really is too small to be classed as a double at the price charged,... Just stayed bank holiday sunday in the penthouse suite. Great room following a delicious sunday lunch. The decor of this place was relaxing and peaceful. Great staff. I have booked again for a saturday night in july, so we can sample the evening menu, after a walk around this great place (durham)
