I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights in the Garden lodge (in no means is this a "Lodge") we chose to stay here as it is not far from home and after reading good reviews, DONT let the reviews or the pictures fool you, the people who have wrote good reviews about this particular room are crazy! This is a firm favourite of my husband's who is a very fussy meat eater. Decor is stunning inside, food delicious and yes a little expensive but you get what you pay for and well worth the money for a special occasion and staff lovely. Highly recommend.

Our room,Indigo, was fantastic , rich almost decadent decor . Great service in the bar and restaurant . Food was first class. We had read a review in a local paper which was very negative - this did not match our experience! Nothing was too much for the staff -they were great.

My wife and i stayed here last night and what a fantastic time we had. On arrival we were greeted by Craig, who is an absolute gentleman. The quality of our room, the Rouge suite, was brilliant, very clean and very well equipped. The restaurant staff were very pleasant and attentive and the food was of a very high standard.... More

We stayed at Gadds Town House for 2 nights while the Brass music festival was on in Durham. Our room was tiny, just enough space to swing one cat. The décor was a bit mismatched we thought, a brick wall mixed with gold and velvet furnishings. The shower cubicle was lovely , but maybe not as part of the bedroom.... More

We stayed here last week as an anniversary treat to ourselves. The place is charming, with imaginative lighting and décor. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive; the food in the restaurant was of a good standard and the breakfast was particularly nice. We stayed in the Amethyst room, which was sumptuous and cosy. Perhaps a bit too cosy,... More

We stayed here as a large group for my niece's 21st birthday celebrations. My husband and I were staying in the penthouse suite. The rooms in the suite are light and airy with a fantastic modern bathroom that certainly has the wow factor-huge egg shaped bath and the biggest showerhead I've ever seen. It was a hot weekend so the... More
