3 of us stayed here in May for my birthday. We could not fault it. It was 5 mins from the train station, 10 mins from the cathedral and all the shops/restaurants. My parents stayed in the Belmont room which was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was first class - better than I have had in a lot of hotels. We... More

My fiancé and I recently stayed here for three nights. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy and Jill. Our room was immaculate yet homely and there was no disturbance with regards to noise. The bed was extremely comfortable. The home cooked food was very tasty and well presented and more than enough to keep you going until late into... More

A lovely, comfortable, super clean and stylish room within walking distance of the cathedral. The owners/hosts, Liz and Andy, make you feel like a member of the family. The breakfast was terrific. Overall, our stay couldn't have been better. Highly recommended.

We commenced our 5 weeks in northern England and Scotland in Durham after 29 hours of planes, airports, metro and train stations. This was a perfect place to start. Jill and Andy looked after us as if we were family. Nothing was too difficult. Great position from the train station, beautiful garden, lovely breakfasts planning our days from the books... More

We stayed at the Victorian Townhouse for eight nights during our spring holiday in Durham. We are a family of four and had booked one of the family rooms. The location is excellent, with the railway station and the bus station within walking distance. Still the rooms are very quiet and we had a lovely view into the garden. The... More

It was our first time in Durham and we spent three nights at the Flambard room in this lovely B&B. Andy was a very good host helping us with all our queries and giving us good tips of where to go and what to do and letting us their parking space. Jill looked after us really well cooking us great... More

We spent one night in the Flambard Room at this B&B and our only disappointment was that we were not staying longer. The room was quite large, spotlessly clean and very tastefully furnished. It even had a view of the cathedral. The bathroom was also great and a very good size. Jill and Andy were very helpful even allowing us... More

This is our second visit to The Victorian Town House and we stayed in the Langley Room (twin room, ground floor), Our room was extremely comfortable, with everything supplied for our visit including a well-stocked welcome tray. The WiFi was great, having 2 routers to ensure good connection in all rooms. The en-suite bathroom was very big with plenty of... More

My husband and I have just returned home from a lovely weekend in Durham. jill and Andy were great hosts. We stayed in the Flambard room, it was an extremely pretty room, the bed was very comfy and the bathroom well equipped. The breakfast on both days were delicious, lots of fruit etc to choose from. Very friendly and helpful. Large comfortable room with great view. We stayed in the Beaumont room. Food was plentiful and good choice. Good to see lots of fruit available. A good location for seeing Durham so long as you don't mind the last little steep bit. Durham is well worth a visit. Newcastle interesting but it was a bit hot... More
