We,ve just enjoyed a three night stay at the Victorian Townhouse. We stayed in the Beaumont room which was clean comfortable and had a really good shower. This is a lovely interesting building and Andy was most welcoming and we felt very much at home. Breakfast were really good with a great choice. The centre of Durham was only a... More

It was easy to choose this B&B with all the excellent reports, and we certainly weren't disappointed. Received a very warm welcome, with offers of help with luggage, parking, restaurants etc, then went to the Flambard room - beautiful room, fully equipped, perfect in every respect. Next morning we had a terrific cooked breakfast - everything cooked to perfection and... More

Found this excellent B & B via Tripadvisor. Although it was our first trip to Durham we knew that parking is an issue. However, this lovely presented accommodation provides limited off road parking as long as you book in advance. We pulled up and Andy was out to greet us, help with the luggage and settle in to the Beaumont... More

Very comfortable, good service, good breakfast, well located. Was pleased with my choice. We were able to walk from the station, to the cathedral, and to the bus station plus a walk out of town and also to restaurants

This is an excellent guesthouse. I stayed just one night, and could not fault it in any way. The owners were really welcoming, and put themselves out to help me in every respect, be it sightseeing or facilitating the purpose of my visit. The location could not be better for arriving by train, and having access to the town. The... More

Stayed one night whilst visiting our daughter at university. Very friendly welcome, immaculately clean and wonderful breakfast to enhance our stay. We hope to make this our regular stop-over. Just need to get some dates booked in as soon as possible!

We also stayed here for my Birthday. It is a beautiful house and our room was very well appointed with a generous offering of full sized bottles of shampoos, soaps, shower gels etc. A warm welcome awaited us and we were immediately offered tea or coffee, which was freshly filtered and came complete with cake and biscuits - most welcome... We stayed one night on business although it was also our wedding anniversary. We walked from the railway station and it took a little finding due to us having missed the turning in the dark. We were welcomed and shown to a room to equal any we have stayed in. The owner directed us to a very good restaurant for... More

We stayed in the Flambard room for one night and thought it was great. An attractive and comfortable room with a view of the cathedral, friendly hosts, good breakfast and convenient location for walking into the city for dinner. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.
