Just returned from a three night stay at the Church Mouse. This is our third visit. We booked a double room and were, in the main, quite happy with it. Large, clean and well equipped. Beds, Wardrobe, TV, the usual stuff. The room was overly warm however. The heating was not on but still we needed to ask for a... more

I have just returned from a weekend spent at the Church Mouse. We booked a family room, as I was with my daughter and young grand children. The room was very spacious and comfortable and had character, unlike Travelodge and Holiday Inn where we have previously stayed. When we came down for breakfast the waitress could not do enough for... more

Innkeepers Lodge are a favourite of mine, I use their Lodges when possible. I had not stayed at the Church Mouse for some time and was somewhat nervous reading a couple of previous comments. I need not have worried. I had a really good stay. Rooms are extremely well presented and keenly priced. Food in adjoining pub very good for... more

We stayed overnight on 18th February. It was really good value, the room was spotless and enormous. The staff in the restaurant were very polite and helpful in all aspects. The food was good pub food with an extensive menu. No complaints at all. more

I've recently returned from a long weekend in Durham/Tyneside. I was visiting family and didn't want to put them out by staying with them, so I looked for some reasonably priced hotels within easy driving distance of them ( South Shields), and came across this Innkeepers lodge at Chester - Le - Street in Durham. They were offering 3 nights... more

Like another reviewer, I was also a regular customer to the Church Mouse and I recently had cause to raise issue about a meal, with the new manager. He was rude and unpleasant and tried to make an example of me, then when I complained to Vintage Inns, the manager's version of events was totally different. I am now a... more

I have been going to this establishment for 7 years, with no problems apart from the odd minor one, which was cleared up quickly and discretely by staff/management. I had cause to query part of the main meal which was being dealt with by a very helpful waitress, when the new manager intervened, and extremely loudly, admonished our party, declaring... more

This was my first stay at this particular lodge and overall I was quite impressed. The rooms were clean spacious and well appointed. The food in the pub attached to the lodge was average pub standard at a reasonable price - 2 of us had starters, mains, wine and drinks for less that £50. The only problem was the very... more
