If you need to stay in Barnstaple, this is the one. The hotel has a really homely feel. Good size rooms, and a great breakfast! more

This is a brillant hotel and the owners are some of the most friendliest people I have ever met. I highly recomend the food there, I booked in for the evening meal and found that the meals were excellent and very reasonably priced, a lot better than going out to eat (which I usually do in hotels). more

Traveled two weeks in South of England and this was the best overall lodging experience. Stayed here three nights in a gigantic room with high ceiling, ornate molding, balcony and lovely furnishings. Hotel was decorated with hip artwork. Paul was super helpful and a great cook. Good value. more

We stayed here for a single night as we were cycling the Devon coast to coast. On arrival we were told that it was fine to store our bikes round the back which we did without any problems and it looked quite a secure place to leave them. Inside, the reception area looked very modern even though it was an... more

My daughter booked this hotel for us as we were helping her move from Wales to Barnstaple, so we had no idea what the hotel was going to be like. Paul the owner was so understanding when I phoned to let him know that we would be late due to hassles with the removal. I felt guilty at keeping him... more

We were traveling through England in July 2009 (My wife, two children and I), coming from France. We stayed one night in this lovely hotel, really really close from the town center, close to a park. We had a family room, really big, a lot of place to move in. Everything in this room was almost perfect : beds, furniture,etc...... more

The standard of accomodation was excellent, the hotel and room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfast was one of the best we have experienced. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. more

Stayed here several times when working in the area. Owners are very friendly, nice relaxed atmosphere, rooms very comfy and there's a legendary breakfast. 5 min walk to town, which is nice for a bit of fresh air after the working day. more

We stayed here for three nights in April and really enjoyed ourselves. When I booked I was warned that our room (number 12, I think) was the smallest they had and had sloping ceilings, but we thought it was lovely; really nicely decorated, clean and bright. A lovely room to come back and relax in at the end of a... more
