We live nearby, and I met my in-laws here with my two children to enjoy a bar-meal sitting outside to enjoy fantastic weather. My girls (aged 11 &8) and I ordered the Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil salad, along with the chunk fries. Cannot fault the service, but the quality and value for money of the meals were very poor. Very... More

Decent enough hotel but wouldn't recommend to any friends my age or even next few generations, good for grandparents and older folk but not much else happening, this goes for Barnstaple overall as well...Claytons The GlassHouse very impressive to be fair though, the Gin experience is a must.

Old style hotel with old style top class service. The staff were all amazing from front desk to bar to house keeping. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. A good location to go and explore the delights of north Devon.

We spent five nights at the Imperial Hotel and enjoyed everything. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed at, luxurious bedroom with a lovely view over the river, excellent bathroom but surprised that the toilet paper was so thin! Spacious lounges and pleasant dining room. Food excellent and staff well trained and attentive. nothing was too much trouble.... More

Lovely hotel with great staff, couldn't fault it, would definitely stay here again. Great location too, easy to walk in to town and everything very accessible. We stayed as we were going to the Somersault festival and it worked very well for us

We have just returned home after a four night stay with friends at this lovely hotel. From the time we arrived the staff were very helpful, the whole hotel from the bedrooms to the public area's, including restaurant & washrooms were spotlessly clean. The service we had especially from the waiting staff was exemplary & everything was carried out with... More

We had the pleasure of a weekend break here 27th June. We were two couples and the whole experience was superb. We have stayed at a sister hotel, Devon Hotel, but first time here. The rooms, foo and staff were second to none

This hotel is so well run, a multitude of excellent staff, great food, which is also plentiful. One of our group was a vegetarian and he was very well looked after. The only disappointment was the small third floor bedroom, which was ready for a refit.

The service was great, all the staff were really helpful. The food was good and a nice lounge area to relax in. The only down side was the small bedroom and the noise outside first thing in the morning from clanging bins.
