This is the 3rd time I have stayed here in a year. Once again I was not disappointed. The rooms are lovely and clean. The hosts Sandi and Bryan are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is great. The home made cake and fresh milk in a flask each day is such a treat. There is a lovely big garden to... More

We stayed here for one night on the final day on completing the first leg of the SWCP and were lucky to stay in Room number 1. I understand the hosts are busy refurbishing all of the rooms at the Old Vicarage and are just completing the final room. Room 1 was huge and beautifully decorated with an incredible bathroom... That first leg of the SWCP from Minehead to Barnstaple has such an amazing range of terrain and scenery, and it changes with more variety again as you continues on towards Bude. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. It will be nice to see you again when you start the next leg; when we will be... More

We stayed here for five nights as the website had suggested we could do 4 sections of the SW Coastal Path from there using buses . Sandi and Bryan were great hosts . Sandi baked fresh lactose free cakes for us which were the best we had eaten and there was always a flask of fresh soya milk in the... More

Thank you for the review Helen. We enjoyed having you and were quite jealous of your walks in the sunshine each day as we were busy decorating; I have now just finished the tiling and the carpet went down today, so just about done and then we’ll be able to enjoy the sunny weather (which we seem to be getting... I recently stayed at The Old Vicarage as the last stop on completing the first leg of the south west coastal path. I arrived very footsore and hot and sweaty from a full days walking. Bryan showed me to my room, very kindly carrying my rucksack up the stairs for me. It was a very pleasant surprise to find that... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review Warren. You had certainly walked some distance that first day to get to us from Woolacombe, and the last few miles on the Tarka Trail, even though they are flat, can be quite punishing. We hope to see you again when you start the next leg of the... More

My first visit to The Old Vicarage and certainly not my last! I cannot recommend highly enough. Instantly felt welcomed by the lovely hosts, my en-suite room (Room 1) was stunning, especially the spacious and elegant bathroom. On arrival, there was delicious cake waiting for me along with a range of teas with fresh milk. Breakfast was amazing also. Thank... More

This B&B was recommended and the overall stay was brilliant!! Very nice people and very comforable rooms and the breakfasts were very good. We found the owners very friendly, polite and helpful. We could not have wished for a better place to stay.

We've just got back from a 3 night stay here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in Room 1 which was very spacious, lovely comfortable bed, settee and lots of storage space. The bathroom is HUGE with a great shower and a beautiful freestanding bath. The breakfasts were delicious, nice and hot and very tasty. It was nice to... More

Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind review. It was nice hearing about the cycling each morning and made me look forward to getting out and about on my bike again very soon. It would be nice to see you again though we can’t guarantee that the weather will be as sunny as you had it... More

I first stayed at the Old Vicarage in January 2013 and thought then that it was definitely the best. We had another stay in November last year and it was even better, if that's possible. We had room 1 this time, very comfortable and with such a huge bath and excellent shower. Great breakfasts and we were well looked-after by... More

I have stayed here twice now while away in business in Barnstaple. It is pretty much the best B&B I have stayed in. Luxurious room, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and the friendliest most gracious hosts. Can't praise The Old Vicarage enough. Worth every penny and more!

The Old Vicarage keeps getting better and better. This time we stayed in room 1, which has had the bathroom updated since the last time we had that room. Wow! The bathroom is very large, has a beautiful free-standing bath, very spacious shower and lovely toiletries and towels. The bed is very comfortable, and tastefully furnished with high quality linens.... More

Thanks Andy, it was lovely to see you all again. You were the first guests to stay in Room 1 who had stayed in it before the refurbishment, so we’re pleased that you appreciated the changes. Looking forward to your next stay. More
