Stayed at hotel magestic with my 11 year old son for the weekend. Reception staff were pleasant & our room was spacious and clean. The view from our window was of the local police station & fire escape. We didn't have any problems with rattling windows or the town hall clock. We slept without any issues. The only down side... As I was attending a concert (Steeleye Span) at the Forum - attractive venue - in Barrow, and not wanting to drive 100 miles or so back home later that evening, I looked for hotels nearby. The Majestic is a five minute walk from the concert hall, and so the obvious choice. Even more so, when it was only £25... More

This hotel is very central and convenient for access to the docks, shopping area etc. There is a small free car park onsite and the staff are friendly and pleasant. The building is really attractive but I agree with previous comments about draughty windows! Breakfast is served in the Italian restaurant area and offers a good choice of food. The... More

I stayed here on 21st January. First of all staff were friendly and welcoming and have no issue with them whatsoever. I was put in room 309 which is on the top floor and to my delight the elevator was out of order so had to carry my luggage up god knows how many flights of stairs to get to... More

Was impressed. Perfect location (town centre). The italian restaurant Francescas downstairs was great too. Nice that a beautiful Victorian (listed i imagine) old Barrow building is still being used. Chap on reception really welcoming and helpful too.

friendly staff, clean rooms, very good breakfast, BUT, I was on third(top)floor and the lift is permanently out of action, and as a gale was blowing and the windows frames seemed to be pre war and wouldn't shut tightly, didn't get much sleep.

The hotel is well situated and has its own small car park. The rooms are clean and comfortable. However, the lift is "permanently out of order", there.is a leaflet in the room showing breakfast times but gives no other details. There was no phone to reception on the room to ask for the WiFi password. So I either walk down... More

We stayed at the Majestic for one night, choosing it because of it's location close to the Forum where we were going. The hotel seems to have had a contemporary makeover and our room and the bar were lovely. The room was clean and altogether very comfortable with all the usual amenities including tea making and flat screen tv. The... More
