Stayed here with workmates for two nights, excellent food at amazing prices, friendly and helpful staff, clean up to date rooms, nice and quiet location too. Set the fire alarm of by mistake :-/ wasn't a problem though. Give this lovely little place a try.

Friendly enough staff. This hotel is in a reasonable location. It is basically a pub with 10 or so rooms upstairs. My room was quite basic, bed was ok although not the comfiest. Was a choice of a few evening meals, and a cooked breakfast. Would stay again if just 1-2 nights.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Live bands and karaoke so no need to go looking for entertainment. Friendly locals always willing to participate in conversation. Staff were extremely accommodating and very warm and friendly. A fantastic breakfast, will definitely be returning and recommend highly!

My parter an I recently stayed here with our 20 month old little boy. The staff were great. The owner was very welcoming and made sure our little boy had plenty to do. The food was lovely, cooked to perfection and a good sized portion. The room was big, warm and very clean. I was a bit worried about my... More

Room was clean and spacious with a nice bathroom. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was lovely! There was some karaoke on on the Friday night and a live singer on the Saturday night but we were on the top floor so could not hear a thing from our room. Also a good central location.

Stopped here whilst visiting friends in the area. The rooms have got solid walls - so no neighbour snoring - and the staff and customers are friendly and keen to chat. The owners are frequently on hand to greet guests and to ensure their stay is pleasant and enjoyed. The business changed hands about a year ago and the new... More

As a family of four, we went to the South Lakes animal park for the day. I looked at accommodation nearby & the Ambrose had the best reviews, I now know why! Don't be put off by the proximity to town or football ground, inside is a welcoming haven with very friendly staff. We had the top floor family room... More

Stayed here in August with a bunch of golfing buddies. We got a warm friendly welcome from the lady on recption. In fact, all the staff were really nice. the rooms were clean and pleasant and the bathroom was modern and well appointed. Full English breakfast was just what the doctor ordered after a few libations the night before. Only... More
