Very unhappy regarding Christmas lunch. Food was undercooked or burnt and was not worth the £75.00 per person price we paid. Totally lacked any presentation or wow factor. When brought to the attention of staff on the day , was not actioned on. Correspondents after the day with management have left me feeling very let down. A much anticipated meal... More

I stayed here for 3 nights in the family room as this was the only room available at the time of booking. Overall a good stay, comfy room but could do with updating as it looks a bit old and tired. Staff were friendly. Ate in the restaurant one night, along with breakfast each morning and the food was very... More

Stayed at this hotel during a visit to Barrow on business. The hotel is very pleasant the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was very comfortable however I did find it a little noisy as my room was above the bar. The breakfast was super with a nice choice. I did eat in the restaurant one night which... We had a weekend away with one of the children and the customer service in this hotel was second to none. If you want a lesson in customer service this is the place to learn. The staff could not do enough for us. It feels like a family. The room are quite old fashioned but this was not a problem.... More

My wife and I wanted to stay just one night and had a look at the local hotels before booking. We decided on the Chetwynde and were certainly glad we did as we had a great stay. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the town centre and has a number of local pubs and places to eat... More

We'd booked a standard room, but got upgraded to superior, nice and clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and very quiet, All the usual amenities in the room, tea/coffee, robe, hairdryer, toiletries. NIce bathroom, large shower. Breakfast was very good, lost of choice, and the staff were extremely friendly,, Bar/lounge area looked... More

The hotel is situated in Abbey Road, five minutes drive from town centre. Has plenty of car parking space (all free). Have stayed in five different rooms and all were excellent, spotlessly clean with large beds, tv, en suite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. The staff are excellent, and can't do enough for you, as is the restaurant,... More
