Stayed here as working in Barrow the next day. Plenty car parking. Lovely spacious clean room with Wifi. Comfortable bed and a peaceful sleep. I had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant

I stayed for 1 night in the annex, excellent facilities, very friendly staff, the bar was open as late as you wanted, only a taxi ride from the centre where you have a large choice of restaurants and bars to choose from. very nice freshly cooked breakfast, will definitely stay again.

Stayed with family for one night while visiting the nearby zoo. Really can't fault the place, staff genuinely nice and so welcoming and helpful. Myself and my daughter were upgraded to the new accommodation, fab room. Lovely bar / seating area to relax. Food great and breakfast spot on. Planning another visit soon to use as base for some Lake... More

Wow what can I say ... thank you for such a lovely wedding experience. We had the ceremony and day/evening receptions. Staff were cheerful and attentive. The day went so smoothly and the atmosphere was homely and relaxed throughout the day. Only downside was even meal. Staff came round serving food but as different groups were in and out of... More

Thanks Paula for the (most part) of the review - the staff appreciated your praise, thank you card and tip. We hear you are wanting to potentially book a christening with us in summer. We are however quite surprised at your comments, on a public forum, about the evening buffet. When guests do go outside during service it is often... More

Stayed here on the evening of 14/01/2015 on business and what a wonderful experience it was. We stayed in the Duke of Edinburgh last time but it was fully booked. Booked The Chetwynde instead and it was as good as the Duke - wonderful value too. Lovely place and decent sized rooms with great appliances. Very quiet and a wonderful... More

Myself and my partner had recently got engaged and wanted to go somewhere peaceful for a break. I made a few enquiries with the hotel via email regarding availability, after which I rang the hotel to make the booking. Unfortunately it was not until after the confirmation was sent to me that I was informed that the hotel restaurant would... More

Hotel was really nice. Staff all very friendly and food was superb! Bar area has lots of sofas and chairs and looks really good. Really quiet at night which gives you a great sleep. Room and bathroom slightly tired and could do with a makeover and TV could do with the full range of freeview channels. Would come back regardless

Very nice hotel, with good facilities. Had free upgrade to superior room in annex which was quiet, modern and well appointed with plenty of space. Breakfast excellent with wide range of choice and nicely cooked. Only slight negatives were that the restaurant was closed Saturday PM and there was a little noise from the bowling club behind - but that... More

Never sure what to expect in Barrow, but this property is lovely and newly updated. The service at the desk and the bar is very good and when I had trouble with my key late at night I was escorted back to my room to ensure I had no issues. This place is first class!
