This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was better than a bus shelter but not by much. The room had a dirty carpet. The room was very dated and the knob came for the wardobe when i tried to open it. My fellow guest was permitted to smoke in the cordor just outside my room all... More

Charming house located in a neighborhood in Barrow. Not located near stores and restaurants. The common portion of the house is "charming", but the room was dated. The mattress was old and in need of replacing. Not high on my list for returning.

Was booked in by a work colleague, who though that at over £60 per night b&b for a single room that it must be a half decent place! It wasn't! Although the owner was friendly (perhaps overly so) the rooms were tiny with the beds tatty and sheets worn. I sat on the bed and could feel the slats through... More

After a bad experience at the Barrow Travelodge in December 2012 we looked for an alternative and discovered the Michaelson House Hotel. Compared to the Travelodge it was so much better that we stayed at the hotel on 3 occasions in January and February 2013. A proper cooked breakfast included.(Not a cold bun and cereal in a box) and a... More

I stayed at Michaelson house hotel for a couple of nights recently & found it very welcoming. I stay in a variety of hotels on my travels with work & found this one to be pretty good. Good sized bedroom with nice comfortable bed all clean & tidy, free wi- fi & parking with friendly staff. Felt very homely!

Stayed for one night after a 30 year absence. It was a comfortable stay with a good if somewhat small breakfast. It has more character than a Travelodge but is a little dated and worn, something the price doesn't reflect. I've certainly stayed in far worse B&Bs and one should consider this place as a B&B, Hotel is a little... More

Keep in mind that I don't usually bother making reviews, however, I feel that I want to help others avoid the trouble we went through trying to find ALTERNATIVE accomodation. I will also be as brief as possible. In general: Stinks of damp, feels deserted Rooms: -Very dated -Dirty -Wall paper falling off -Mouldy -Damp -Smelly -Wall paper stained yellowish,... More
