Comfortable and traditional English seaside type hotel. Good home-grown food, house speciality at this time of year is anything with apples or apple sauce! Convenient for Barrow docks and business area.

booked last minute through Booking.com in fact 12.18pm to be precise. Although it said check-in from 16.00 we called around 14.00 hoping to check in early. The place looked closed. Door locked and no sign of anyone. We decided to leave and come back nearer to 16.00. At 15.40 the place was still in darkness. I rang both doorbells, knocked... More

Beautiful gardens, that's it. Room was outdated, enjoyed not sleeping in a bed that was uncomfortable and felt as if I was laying on springs. Decor old, worn and dirty. Pipes all over, don't know why as no hot water either. Not that I could shower as the grout between the tiles were orange pure filth!! Carpets patched, stained and... More

Please alter this name from hotel to B and B. lovely gardens, breakfast good, staff friendly. Now the nitty gritty! Bedrooms, oh dear, warn out, cold showers, tatty bedroom furniture , good nights sleep though. Shower a disgrace soap holder on floor, cold water, carpets dirty (not in the shower), "value for money £63 with breakfast, well maybe but for... More

Unable to give a score as we were so disappointed. Room stank of damp and cigs. Carpet filthy furniture dilapidated. View of a brick wall. Shower unbelievably filthy probably due to old age as well as neglect. Carpet in bathroom covered in stains - god knows what! Carpet off cuts for mats around avocado coloured toilet. We didn.t dare to... More

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was better than a bus shelter but not by much. The room had a dirty carpet. The room was very dated and the knob came for the wardobe when i tried to open it. My fellow guest was permitted to smoke in the cordor just outside my room all... More

Charming house located in a neighborhood in Barrow. Not located near stores and restaurants. The common portion of the house is "charming", but the room was dated. The mattress was old and in need of replacing. Not high on my list for returning.

Was booked in by a work colleague, who though that at over £60 per night b&b for a single room that it must be a half decent place! It wasn't! Although the owner was friendly (perhaps overly so) the rooms were tiny with the beds tatty and sheets worn. I sat on the bed and could feel the slats through... More
