Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on business Facilities are very good with an excellent choice of breakfast & evening meals Rooms are very spacious with modern decor. Free wi- fi was a bonus I have stayed in several Barrow hotels during the last 4 months & Victoria park is by far the best

Lovely old building, in need of a bit of TLC I think. Room was good, hotel was very quiet also which was nice. Staff very helpful but a bit thin on the ground. missed breakfast as we got up late, so our fault even though it finishes at 9am, OK for the people saying whilst on business but a bit... More

The rating - on the property (tired and has clearly seen some glorious days in the past) or the stay (much better than good)? So I ended up average. Read below for the reasons why. I would certainly stay there again. Starting a new role in Barrow on a Monday in July 2013 I travelled up from the south west... More

We had a most relaxing stay (two nights) at Victoria Park recently, the hotel has very beautiful architecture if you take time to look at it. The room was comfortable and clean and had the same facilities you would expect to find anywhere else. The bar meals were cooked well and real belly busters !! There was enough on the... More

I had the distinct misfortune of staying at this hotel recently while working in the area. I did check the poor reviews on this site beforehand, but couldn't find a room anywhere else. Overall the seemingly horrific reviews are accurate, and provided a pleasant distraction from my situation in the form of “[--] bingo” - trying to spot all of... More

I can only apologise for the clothes found in the wardrobe, but if the customer had brought any housekeeping issues to our attention you can be assured they would have been resolved immediately. As we have stated on previous occasions we are endeavouring to refurbish the hotel and unfortunately this does mean that at times there will inevitably be some... More

It is an very Old hotel, a young lady in the reception was very friendly, however, we paid over £80 per night from internet, we thought it was cheap for a family of 4 and from internet the hotel looked good and it got a big back garden. When we arrived there were few old plastic bags in hotel's out... More

We were booked into stay at this hotel. Who would stay in this room? Not us. We walked straignt back out after seeing the damp on the wall and state of the headboard etc. The carpet outside the room was stained and discusting. When we walked back to the glass strewn carpark things were being stolen from the skip. No... More

Food was good, breakfast excellent, staff could not have been more helpfull or accomodating making me an early breakfast everyday of my stay. It is a listed building and as such full of character, unlike modern buildings with "cloned" rooms. All the facilities in the room you would expect and off street parking as well. A 15 minute walk or... More

This is purely regarding the new restaurant that has opened this week. Called the lounge Grill and offers burgers and steaks. Not a wide choice on the menu but had one of the best burgers I have ever tasted! 100% Aberdeen Angus Steak mince and filled with Stilton in a very tasty Ciabatta bun. The chicken wings starter was a... More
