My husband and I had the occasion to stay in the hotel for 1 night. We were not impressed with the parking area surface to start with. When we went inside, we couldn't find anyone to help us. After a while someone walked past us into the bar area. He asked if we were looking for someone. When we said... More

I stopped at the Lisdoonie for 6 weeks solid whilst working In Barrow In Furness. Whilst the hotel decor is somewhat older than new modern hotels I found the room , Bed & bathroom and facilities to be first class and value for money. The staff could not do enough for you and were the friendliest staff I have met... More

A pleasant enough privately run hotel, conveniently situated just outside the city cenre. First impressions were that it looked a little "tired", but it managed to overcome that with its olde worlde charm, once inside. The staff were attentive, the room was of a good size and the bed comfortable. I ate in the restaurant and was the only diner... More

This was a cheap hotel. The room we stayed in was small and in need of a make over. The shower room was grotty and had no extractor fan. There didn't seem to be some basic health and safety checks eg the electrical items had no PAT testing stickers. The bedside lamp didn't work. The window wouldn't open. The public... More

We stayed here for a weekend and with how little it cost we were not expecting much...but was pleasantly surprised. We had room 5...no view but a fairly large room and ensuite was ok. Bed very comfortable and all you need really...Tv..wifi...drink making...toiletries to use. On a main road but no noise and good access to a range of places.... More

This is a really dated hotel, but that's OK by me, I liked it. Room was warm, clean and a good size. Nice view of the bins and the room was over the kitchen which made it smell a little like a deep fat fryer, but for £40, it's worth putting up with for one night. \When I arrived there... More

The shared areas of this hotel are really nice, old-fashioned and very clean but the bedroom was a bit worn and grubby, the bathroom in particular was small and not well cleaned. There is a private car park with lots of pot holes and the breakfast was plentiful. I would probably not stay again except that the price was competitive

We were a little dubious about visiting the Lisdoonie hotel after seeing some of the reviews on here but we had a great stay. Yes the decor is rather dated but the hotel is clean & the rooms are spacious. Breakfast was excellent although there is nothing on the evening meal menu for vegetarians. I'm sure if we'd asked in...
