Stayed at the Woodlands the Sunday and Monday after Valentines weekend, to avoid the crowds. We were the only ones in the hotel! Good Points - or should I say excellent points - Location is spot on, on the main road in between Windermere and Bowness both 5 min walk in either direction. Loads of off road parking with new... more

The long drive from Doncaster for a three night stay at the woodlands was worth every bit. The hotel was 100% of what we expected having read other reviews. We had fantastic St valentines weekend in room No6, a large room with bed big enough to get lost in. The un-suite had bath and seperate shower unit, fully tiled and... more

I spent a lovely weekend at the Woodlands Hotel after a cold snowy week. I had been recommended to stay there by friends some time ago and had stayed there previously two years ago. The hosts Alan and Sara were very friendly and welcoming. All the bedrooms have been refurbished and are now beautifully decorated and furnished. I was given... more

Alan the owner has done a really good job in making this hotel something special. Our room was very modern and the bed was REALLY comfortable. The breakfasts were lovely and set you up well for the day! The personal touch definitely rang true here as throughout our stay we felt very welcomed. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly... more

We stayed at Woodlands on 16th and 17th October and then because we didn't like the hotel we were at in Glasgow, we stayed another night on 23rd October. I could not fault either visit. The hotel is a very clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay in and the owners are thoughtful and helpful. On our first visit, we... more

We had a lovely couple of nights at the Woodlands. Alan is a very friendly, interesting and informative host and made us feel very welcome. We had a 4 poster room which was very cosy (very minor criticism was it was possibly a bit small to contain a 4 poster bed) and as the weather was terrible, it was a... more

We live fairly locally and needed somewhere to stay for a couple of nights whilst we were having some work done on our house. We regularly go out in Bowness and Windermere, know the area extremely well and knew that the Woodlands had been refurbished so we thought we'd give it a go. When the workmen confirmed the days they... more

We have stayed at the Woodlands hotel a number of times and have always had a brilliant experience. Its in a great location, the service is excellent & the cooked breakfast is the best in Cumbria! They have recently refurbished the rooms & these have been done to a exceptional standard. Overall excellent value for money- I guarantee if you... more
