Excellent location, Jodie and Stephen the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast excellent which was served in our room (10) at no extra cost. Small charge for the use of the sauna snd swimming pool at a local 5* hotel. Already booked to return in July 2015.

The guest house is really well located right in the heart of the town close to all restaurants, bars and shops. Room rates are very reasonable for the area and the couple that run are very warm and welcoming. The only downsides to our stay was our room didn't seem to be level. Even the bed seemed to lean back.... More

I booked here for a surprise weekend for our first wedding anniversary and I couldn't of been any happier, rooms were clean and the beds we're comfy! Breakfast is high on my list of priorities and it was unbelievable! The location is superb, it is right in the middle of Bowness with lots of bars, pubs and restaurants to choose... More

First time at the Lakes and first time staying in a B&B and was pleasantly surprised. The location was perfect, no taxis needed after drinks in the village and walking distance is 5 mins to the lake and activities. What stood out were the friendly owners. Great value, parking available and were happy to let us keep the car there... More

Stayed in room 10 (4 poster bed) last weekend, beautiful big room, lovely friendly staff who just leave you to get on with everything but there if you need them, excellent full English breakfast brought to the room. Very central location, 2 minutes from the lake, shops, restaurants and bars (Porto is definitely the place to eat). Will definitely be... More

Room are very clean and the staff arevery friendly (family run business). Breakfast is good even though the continental options are limited to cereal and bread with jam and butter, perhaps some cheese, ham, yogurt and croissant options will lift the quality of the breakfast more up.. However we enjoyed a good English breakfast. It's definitely a place to visit... More

Stayed here with my wife for valentine's weekend. On arrival to laurel cottage I sent my wife to the door of the hotel to find out where the free private parking was, Seeing as when booking via 'booking.com' it state that there is "Free private parking is possible on site (reservation is not needed)". Only to be told they have... More

We were greeted by jodie who seemed a little stressed though still lovely. We were shown to our room, double bedroom. The room was on the small side but we were offered an upgrade. We thought as we'd be out all day it wouldn't be a problem and the room was, though a little tired in places, immaculate and well... More

I would highly recommend staying at Laurel Cottage, the owners Jodie & Stephen are so friendly, they really made us feel at home. The room was very clean and tidy, the breakfast was very appetising and hot, with the choice to have cereal and fruit. The cottage is in a great location, although there is very little parking. We would... More
