This B&B was perfect for us - it was quaint with roses and other flowers around the door. The situation was very central and within walking distance of the lake and surrounding town. The room was clean with comfortable beds and the breakfast was very tasty. The owner was friendly and welcoming but not at all intrusive. Parking was close... More

We booked this B&B due to its location, which is definitely 4 star. The B&B itself, wasn't great though. It was so hot inside that we had to sleep with the windows wide open, which meant it was really noisy. Our room was pretty small, which was fine. But pretty dated and worn. The bed was a total nightmare. It... More

The B & B was perfect as usual as we have stayed before. This hotel has changed hands but the new host was not as welcoming as previous owner. It was a case of there's your room next day pay your money then good bye. A little warmer greeting and farewell would be nice. Apart from that food was good... More

As I have not been on trip advisor long this review is late coming, the hotel was worth every penny for my wife and myself who stayed here a couple of years ago .,but we told our daughter and she stayed last year, and she agreed that the place is ideally situated, everything is inside a 5minute walk, pubs, eating places, the lake etc.... Location is brilliant, breakfast fabulous and everyone is wonderful. The only room available at the time of booking was a small double, which yes is small but for a couple of nights is more than adequate, comfortable with on-suite did us fine.

The location of this B&B is excellent. Just a 2 minute stroll to the lake and all the shops etc. are just around the corner. Well situated in the centre of everything but far enough out of the way for a good night sleep. The staff here are really friendly, making the stay a real pleasant one. I had a... More

This is a lovely, centrally located B&B. Staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. The young guy serving breakfast was a star. The room was very clean and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. I'm a bit fussy over beds but this was great! The rooms are very private and you don't realise how many guests... More

We was just passing through, as the weather was decent we decided to see if we could find a place to stay for the night, it was late in the day and Bowness was pretty busy so we thought our chances of finding a place would be slim... how wrong we were, first place we tried was here... the guy... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Laurel Cottage B&B and L'Escargot Restuarant at Laurel Cottage (Launching END July 2013) is run by Former Marco Pierre White Chef Jason Turner and His Wife Yui along with a superb professional and welcoming team.We run a family style b and b, which is relaxed and informal, a home from home. The restaurant will be extremely busy and will require you to book well in advance by telephone, my last restaurant here "The PortHole Eating House" was close to a year booked in advance. We have an amazing wine list, from £15.00 to £1500.00 per bottle, a relaxed affair with the best food in Bowness and Windermere. We very much forward to greeting you here at L'Escargot or Laurel Cottage for the b and b and or dinner. ... more   less
