We ate here due to it's brilliant location and spacious beer garden. The food was excellent as was the service. Looks to be updated inside since our last visit ten years ago, although back then there were adequate toilet facilities that you had to go upstairs for. We searched for them this time but they aren't upstairs anymore, the only... More

Didn't stay here. Had a lunch one afternoon. Had two baguettes both were very nice. Also from the little I saw of inside while ordering it looked like it had been recently refurbished. Staff were very polite

Stayed here with my family as a last minute decision and have mixed feelings about the place. Before I start with any negatives, I just want to comment on the staff. You pretty much won't find better staff or service anywhere which should be noted if this is what is important to you. Location wise you would struggle to find... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here New Year's Eve with our friends. When arriving the location was fantastic, directly in the centre of Bowness and a car park just around the corner (as the hotel has no parking facilities so we did have to pay) We was upgraded to the annex which was nice, very clean and modern bathrooms. We... More

After contacting the hotel to book the room it was agreed which weekdays we would go on. The person dealing with the enquiry (John) informed us we would be in the newer part of the hotel in room 6 with a Lake view. Upon arrival we parked outside the narrow street which had doubled yellow lines and asked the guy... More

The so called superior room was in an annexe a few yards from the main building and considering the price it could have done with quite a bit of TLC in terms of decoration and all round attention to detail. The room was bright and modern with a comfortable bed but it just lacked those finishing touches that you expect in... Noticed the paintwork in need of a refresh, dirty and the carpets didn't look like they had been cleaned recently either. Stayed in room 7, The toilet seat was loose and did come off in the end. Bathroom is quite nice however, the floor tiles were heavily stained with glue which would have cleaned off easy with the right cleaning... More
