Stopped here with my Girlfriend as nearby Newby Bridge Hotel was fully booked for a wedding we were due to attend. The Whitewater hotel is in a stunning location near a fast flowing river. The sound of the river at night is very calming and i felt like i had had one of the best nights sleep for a long... more

Great welcome with coffee for large group. Help with cases. Any little query dealt with immediately. Lots of smiley and polite staff. Varied menu, well cooked and imaginative. Would recommend this hotel to anyone - even Basil Fawlty would have nothing to complain about. Lovely location, lovely hotel, lovely holiday DL Emsworth more

The hotek welcomed our horticultural society trip with a very much needed tea/coffee. All 49 of us were quickly allocated our rooms having chosen our dinner from an excelent and varied menu.( all food ,even for 49, is cooked fresh and they have a no reheating policy) We stayed for three nights and all enjoyed the food tremendously. I swam... more

Wow is all I can say.....after recent renovations this hotel has been transformed into a relaxing yet modern place to be, with lots of leather sofas about the relax and have a coffee on, yet still set in the most beautiful of scenery. I cant falut this place, a couple of niggles on a previous visit but they have by... more

Stayed here for 1 night As a business traveller I have seen enough good & bad hotels to realise that the Whitewater is one to remember! It is not specifically geared for business travellers, primarily catering for visitors to the South/Western Lakes, but that's not a problem, it's also fine for business! I arrived fairly late after a long drive,... more

When we arrived however we had to work through scaffolding (holding... more

Just returned from my works Xmas party the Whitewater and really enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for any of them. We got a really nice spacious room overlooking the river. The room was clean, warm and more than sufficient for our needs. Nice mini bar too. Didn't use any of... more

My family and I visited the Whitewater Hotel, near Newby Bridge over Hallowe'en 08. We stayed there for 5 nites bed, breakfast & evening meal and had a great time touring the Lake District. The hotel reception & decor is a bit shabby, however our family bedroom was a good size and well enough equipped . We had booked this... more
