Had a wonderful break at The Lindeth Howe, cannot fault anything. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the food was of excellent quality. We had afternoon tea when we checked in and a five course evening meal. The breakfast the following morning was equally good. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a break in the Lake District.

Cannot fault either the hotel, service or food. As far as we were concerned it was one of the best short breaks we have had. We started with afternoon tea in the garden and then had a walk into Bowness. We followed this with a swim in the pool to build up an appetite for our meal in the evening.... More

My husband and I stayed here for part of the England/Scotland trip we took for our 30th wedding anniversary. I found it to be absolutely charming. We had an upper room that was large and spacious. The view was quite lovely, although it was a little foggy some of the time. We spent three nights here, with dinner and breakfast... More

Stayed at Lindeth Howe for one night as part of our silver wedding celebration. We got a special deal (one of their "Hot Dates" offers) which includes the five course dinner. So this was good value for money. Their normal rates are quite expensive though. The Hotel looks lovely and is in a nice setting near Lake Windermere. The garden... More

Came for afternoon tea. Left waiting at reception for at least 10 minutes, so went in search of a member of staff. On finding a member of staff and finally getting his attention we where abruptly told to find a seat. Asked said member of staff would it be possible to have our afternoon tea in the garden (lovely sunny... More

My husband and I stayed at Lindeth Howe many years ago and loved it but this time we where very disappointed. Staff on arrival not very pleasant but this did improve with the second lady who showed us to our room, room with a lake view could barely see the lake. Food reasonable although breakfast on the first morning was... More

Have just spent two nights db&b here, was a little worried that the hotel would be 'tired' and the staff unfriendly (as per other reviews...) this was not the case. The staff were fabulous, attentive without being intrusive, professional and courteous. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel. On par with five star hotels I have previously stayed in.... More

This hotel is one of the best we have stayed at either in the U.K. or abroad! The building is in a wonderful setting overlooking Lake Windermere and it also has a great deal of interesting history about it as it was once owned by Beatrix Potter of Peter Rabbit fame. All the meals are first rate and the staff are polite,friendly.and...
