We arrived on Friday afternoon to a friendly reception from Graham and our beautiful room was ready for us. We stayed in room 6 which is a studio room with a four poster bed, a spa bath (which fits 2 people although it's a bit snug)with shower over. There were lovely homemade cakes and a selection of hot drinks. There... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Virginia Cottage and will highly recommend it to our friends. Our room with a 4-poster bed was well-appointed and amazingly quiet. Bathing in the huge spa tub was a wonderful relief after many hours of hiking/walking. Parking in the large lot a few steps away was easy, free and convenient. We also enjoyed swimming... More

What can we say about this place that hasn't already been said? we took our dog and stayed in the downstairs room next to the lounge, the room overlooked the pub next door and we thought it might be a little noisy at leaving time but we never heard a thing and that was a bank holiday weekend so it... Stayed here 19/8/14. What an excellent location. Couple of minutes to the shops or lake. Graeme was an ideal host, didn't get to meet Shirley but i'm sure she must have been very busy. Room 109 with four-poster bed & nicely decorated. Plenty of storage space. Right next to the busy road but at night perfectly quiet. Pubs/Restaurants within a... More

Room had four poster bed, brand new bathroom, sofa and good size fridge. Breakfasts good every morning with cereals and fruits plus personalised cooked breakfast chosen evening before. Some floorboard noise... More

A very welcoming place in a beautiful part of the world. Pros: Nice big room (number 4, four poster bed), tasty vegetarian breakfast, friendly owner, very clean and well kept. Good value prices too, relative to other accommodation on offer. Cons: Nothing aside from the wifi being problematic but that was a temporary situation and unavoidable for the owner. Overall... More
