A very welcoming place in a beautiful part of the world. Pros: Nice big room (number 4, four poster bed), tasty vegetarian breakfast, friendly owner, very clean and well kept. Good value prices too, relative to other accommodation on offer. Cons: Nothing aside from the wifi being problematic but that was a temporary situation and unavoidable for the owner. Overall... More

Stayed for 3 nights, clean rooms with free Wi-Fi and complimentary homemade biscuits (nice touch). Excellent location in the center of Bowness, within 1 minute walk from the lake, loads of bars and restaurants to eat at, free use of leisure facilities at McDonald Old England Spa and free parking across the road at The Belsfield hotel. Breakfast was great... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was the best, the selection available was great, the location was perfect, the complimentary sherry was a welcome surprise. Will definitely stay again, soon.

Stayed at Virginia with my family recently and just for one night; we had rooms 4, 9 & 10. We all slept extremely well and the party loved the breakfast. Car parking is a real bonus and just a few yards away. Location of Virginia cottage is excellent and my worry about noise was unfounded. Graeme, the owner, was superb... More

Great stay, spacious room, lovely spa bath. Extremely clean and great choice of food for breakfast. 10/10 for location and brilliant view from our room. Plenty of great food around the cottage, and excellent for both families, and couples. Would definitely recommend.

Poor rooms and breakfast and well over priced we wanted to move after one night we booked two. Gutted that we could have stayed at the Swan At Newby Bridge for 30 more. But also we note that within yards of the VC you can get rooms for 30 less but are better!

It was a nice place to spend a night, the staff were accommodating and the service was good. I do think it was slightly on the pricey side at £95 but it is a good location. The B&B was dog friendly and my wee dog did enjoy her stay, the owners were happy to recommend other dog friendly restaurants in... More
