It would have been excellent in every way but it left a distinctly nasty taste in my mouth by the morning - we were woken at 11.45pm by a terrible argument happening in the room next door - after 3 hours (we had knocked on the wall, which made no difference) during which the extremely slim tiny blonde went off... Stayed one night. Very retro looking all round. Kinda liked it. Room was very basic. Clean which is the main thing. Would we stay they again ...... yes we would. Didn't eat at the restaurant there though Kavi Restaurant as the prices were more for the Indian food than we pay in london.

The cheapest hotel in the area and reasonably clean are the only positives. No wifi despite advertising it, shower was a trickle and woken throughout the night by creaking floorboards. Room key only worked after three trips reception each day. Wouldn't stay again but if you're on a budget would probably just about do.

Stayed at the great national at the weekend with my girlfriend and can't believe some the reviews I had no problem with heating and found that all staff were very polite and very helpful and I have to say that the Kavi was one of the best Indian resturants I have ever ate at

Basic room looked ok on first sight. Stains on carpets, chipped headboard, windows possibly single glazed( a lot of traffic noise) were quite draughty. Bathroom left a lot to be desired, awkward getting in and out of shower. Tiling around the bath not in the best shape, grout missing and generally didn't look clean. Had a few visitors on both... This Hotel was exactly what I needed it was very cheap and straight forward, I could access free wifi in my room I also had room service from the Kavi restaurant which was very well priced and the staff were very helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast in the morning was great to set you up for a long journey.

Have used this hotel before as the location is good for catching up with family near by. It's a cheap basic hotel and we have always found it clean if a little worn. The buffet breakfast has all you need to set you up for the day and beats many expensive hotels. A good english breakfast as well as the... More
