A needed weekend break, but disappointing, hotel needs tweaking i.e. restaurant - hotel décor and the absence of staff at reception. Wouldn't go back to Russell but may try sister hotel Prince Regent. Shame really because been to other Daisha's hotels with no complaint.

I have just returned from the Russell with a group of 45 people. The entertainment at the hotel is very good with the choice of entertainment between the Russell and their sister hotel next door. Food on the whole was good, not much choice for vegetarians. The only compliant we had as a group was that the bedrooms were too... More

We have just had a 5 day stay at the Russell which we enjoyed. We had a nice big, comfortable room with the walk in shower we requested. We found all the staff very friendly, the meals were good but the dining room was rather cramped. As we were self drive the only thing we did not like was the... More

4 day break at a bargain price, well done Daish's for taking over this Hotel. The décor is dated but the staff were friendly, the meals good and we really enjoyed our stay. We would be happy to go back at any time.

Disappointed in subterranean "restaurant", especially after staying at the neighbour hotel, the Prince Regent....FAR superior. Meals were rushed, mediocre, and shared with two large men on a very small table. We were required to choose evening meals 24 hrs ahead of time and even THAT did not ensure you got your choice! Other folk were on long tables, the hotel... More

We stayed for a 4 day weekend break and had a lovely time. Rooms were small (but we were in singles and it looked like the doubles were of a decent size when we glimpsed them) and comfortable but very very hot though, some of our party were given a fan but not others. Bathroom was a very good size... More
