We have stayed in many hotels/guest houses in the past and LILAC VILLA ranks as one of the best. We arrived early but Mary and Stephen greated us with a smile, a pot of tea and biscuits. They were very attentive, friendly and helpfull throughout our stay nothing was to much trouble. By the end of our stay we felt... More

What a great stay! We arrived on Friday and stayed for 3 nights and were treated like VIPs. We were greeted upon arrival by Mary and Stephen and showed to our room (7). Everything was explained and the room was immaculate. This was a large very well equipped room that had a double bed and single bed and there was... More

Stayed one night and most impressed. Mary's welcome and attention to detail was exceptional (we can easily see why Lilac Villa has attracted such praiseworthy reviews). Room comfortable and spotless with nice little touches everywhere. Location ideal as property on the main road into town but situated well back from the road so no traffic noise. Highly recommended!

Steve and Mary were great hosts, warm and attentive. A well resourced guest house with nice rooms, good range of breakfasts and knowledgeable about the local area. The guest house is easily accessable, has good availability of parking and close to a pub that has a good range of beers. We will visit again without hesitation when in the area.

A lovely warm 'home-from-home' atmosphere greeted our arrival, and remained undiminished throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for Mary & Stephen, the owners, to ensure our enjoyment of first-class accommodation & facilities. A super breakfast kick-started each day. We were offered plenty of choice in the cooked and other sections of the menu. And oh, those croissants...! The... More
