It's never good to write a bad review, especially for an independent retailer. The building is in desperate need of an update. The retro interior is kind of right but it needs a designers touch to bring it up to the standard you would expect of competitors like the 'Pig' chain. The service was woeful and I'm please that I... We spent six nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay. It is a great place for families, the food is very good and the hotel pet dog (available for walks) is a stroke of genius. The indoor pool is also great for rainy days and the staff, particularly in the restaurant and bar, are excellent. However, the hotel... More

I have just returned from the hotel after spending two nights here with my sister and our four children aged from 7-10. We all had a really enjoyable stay and while this certainly isn't a deluxe hotel it does off a lovely experience for families with younger children, looking to enjoy plenty of activities on site and the opportunity to... A pleasant stay. The room was comfortable, but the whole hotel was a little tired. Thank goodness for the indoor pool the grandchildren enjoyed it very much a godsend on a wet day. The play area was in need of more attractions . The food was good for adults and reasonably priced and the children were well catered for. I... More

Stayed one night, sea view, evening meal and breakfast, everything was very good. A Family Hotel but you can eat 'adult only' times if you want.Dogs are allowed, but for us children and dogs were not a problem. Booked through Travelzoo, staff, food, cleanliness were all very good. Would go back again

This is a very child friendly hotel, we are early sixties and also had a great stay. The view from our room of chesil beach was brilliant the full moon somehow gave it an extra glow. The room had been refurbished to a high standard bathroom products lovely. We were meeting friends there for a meal glad I had booked... More

The Good Things. Unique location. Charming and efficent staff. Comfortable. Never seemed crowded. Fabulous children's facilities. Excellent indoor pool. Candlelit lounges and dining rooms in evening. Lots of magazines and papers. The Bad Things. Not a luxury hotel. Our standard double small, with a bathroom you could not swing even a kitten in, 1930s wardrobe painted white, various pieces 'old'... More

The hotel manages to make the kids feel welcome, and the adults looked after. A fantastic meal, amazing cocktails - and when I had to go upstairs after a call from the baby listening service, the kitchen took my meal to keep it warm for me. We wanted to stay another night - it was so relaxing.

Tucked away at the end of a long drive, this hotel is a real treat.the outstanding features are the food, the staff and the location. We only stayed 2 nights, but each night the food was outstanding, and breakfast didn't disappoint either. All of the staff that we met were friendly and efficient. The coastal footpath runs alongside the hotel,... More

Moonfleet Manor is a great hidden away Hotel that offers that bit of luxury whilst being very accommodating to children an family pets. We are local to this Hotel and so only visit for lunch or afternoon teas. Today we visited with our family dog and sat on the patio and enjoyed afternoon tea, which included sandwich's, cakes and scones.... More
