This is an ordinary suburban pub (with Thai restaurant included) but it has several perfectly satisfactory rooms, the best of which seem to be located in the massive towers that dominate its facade. The rooms are fine, though the shower in my room was either scalding or freezing, but only bearable for about 30 seconds at a time. The Old... More

We stayed in Weymouth for one night and the hotel was walking distance to the centre, we had no problems finding it. The hotel is situated above a pub and Thai restaurant. We arrived at around 8:30pm and parked right outside. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff at the bar and were shown to our room. The room... More

My partner and I visit Weymouth every month due to my partners family living in Weymouth we found that The Old Castle is the perfect place to stay. The Old Castle provides us with a basic, cheap and clean room - what more can you ask for £40 a night! The staff are friendly, helpful, always makes us feel welcome... More

This is a typical English B&B. The rooms were clean, the bedding was clean - so that's all that mattered really ! Was a nice surprise to have a hair dryer, tea & coffee facilities in room. Location - its a pub in a housing estate - was a little difficult to find without sat nav. Breakfast was left outside... More

Superb staff who made us very welcome, its not, nor is it ever going to be, five star but the beds were clean the room was spotless and the welcome was better than many much posher and expensive places. The breakfast was basic lets say and hence the dropped star, the could easily do a proper breakfast in the restaurant... More

We arrived at the hotel and for the price we weren't expecting a palace. But when we entered the room it was a bit of a shock for me. The sink was filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned as parts of it were brown. The carpet had not been vacuumed as it had lots of hairs and crumbs all over... More

Looked for last minute cheap hotel for a 1 night stop over and found the old castle. We were given room four. Which although a little tired was clean and with a good supply of te a and coffee. The great surprise was the Sandsfoot castle and beach just 5mins away. My enjoyment was spoiled a little on 3 things... More

We visited this pub when we visited friends in Weymouth. A bonus for us as the rugby was on and we ate from the restaurant in the main bar area. The Tribute ale was very nice, the food spectacular and England won the match. We also met a few local characters.

Stayed for a night with my son. Im really impressed!!! Very old fashioned hotel but nice, clean, big room. We were suprised with a little extras ( basket with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, little soaps, shampoo etc together with fresh towels) , what you dont really expect paying only £40 a night!! Continental breakfast was really nice as well:... More

I feel that the description of the room is way off, the room is a twin come double come family room as all the pictures and description show and at a competitive price and I would recommend that a look at the web site before booking. The food was served and eaten and told how lovely it was the menu was...
