Probably the oldest coaching inn to be found in Scotland, the Huntly Arms Hotel was first built in 1432 and has played host to Jacobite leaders and even later, Queen Victoria. Located in the heart of Royal Deeside the hotel has retained much of its traditional charm and character and is just the thing for a relaxing and memorable Scottish break. Leisure seekers will enjoy the local area as many golf courses are within a 50-mile drive of the hotel, with country pursuits, gliding, water-skiing and cycling all available nearby. more » « less

We( 4 Adults and a 3 1/2 yr.old) Arrived early evening on , May 5,2008. Check-in went very smoothly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were large (price was 120 pounds for 4 nights Breakfast encluded for 2 adults) a great value for off season rates) and warm (that was solved by opening the windows) and spotlessly... more

I stayed at this hotel for three nights because I was working in Aberdeen in a week when unknown to me, an energy conference was taking place in Aberdeen and Aboyne was the nearest place with a hotel that had any rooms available! I'm definitely used to staying in larger hotels and so this was a bit of a novelty... more

I had a short weekend stay in this hotel which is well situated in Aboyne centre. Helpful staff, good food and the room was clean and spacious. Only negative was that although there was a telephone in the room it could not be used for external calls which had to be made from reception. Generally good value for money and... more

This hotel is wonderfully situated and it a beautiful looking building from the outside. On the inside however it is a mess. There are some wonderful features such as the art deco residents bar which could be recovered with expert attention but the place does not seem to know whether it is a 2-star coach party place or something that... more

Have just returned from a two day break with easy breaks. The lovely break cost us less than £100 for the two of us on a DBB basis. We do read the reviews before booking anywhere but thankfully we are never put off and make our own minds up when we get there. This hotel is rated 2 star, we... more

Have just returned from a 2 night stay in Huntly Arms and found it very good value for cost (booked through Easy Break). The room was a good size, although the ensuite was a bit on the small side but everything was very clean & tidy and the bed very comfortable. Food was good and we found staff all friendly... more

Stayed at the Huntley for the Aboyne Highland games-conveniently located across the street. Has no A/C so we kept the window open but the hotel bar was just below. Could get a bit noisy at times but have a few beers and you'll sleep just fine. Staff was very helpful and I understand the hotel is recently under new management.... more

A niece and I - in Aboyne for a family funeral - booked here with some trepidation after reading all the negative posts on TA. In fact, we had few complaints. The hotel has had a makeover since it changed hands a couple of months ago, and although things weren't perfect - there isn't a lift, the roof light in... more

We have just got back from a dredful stay in this'hotel' and are currently writting the letter of complaint to the coach tour company; went looking for info and found this site! It's been closed due to health and safety since last December 2006 but it was open but not ready or fit when we arrived with 44 new friends... more
