I didn't research this hotel very well, just booked it I didn't realise where it was in relation to my journey. The village was quite charming as would have been the hotel in it's heyday. Sadly it needs a lot of refurbishment to bring it back to it's former glory.

We stayed here on an itison deal and for £49 for one nights dinner, bed and breakfast (including a bottle of wine!) it represented really good value. On arrival the receptionist was pleasant and friendly. Yes the hotel could do with having a bit of money spent on modernising it but although our room was a bit dated it was... More

Thanks to the staff for putting up with our requests to keep our bikes in the room. Very accommodating and helpful in making us packed lunches as we were too early for breakfast, then let us keep a room for showers after the race. Cant really fault the staff who were helpful and courteous.

This has got to be one of the most horrible hotels I have been to although we found that the staff were nice. It really needs to be upgraded, it was cold and the rooms were uncomfortable, the heating did not work and the small electric heater that we were given made a terrible noise. The dining room was nice... More

This hotel has ruined our anniversary! it was smelly. in great need of updating (worn out carpets, paper coming off walls, dampmness). The light in our room did not work. only 2... More

A basic hotel, well placed right in the heart of Aboyne. There’s a bar downstairs which serves standard pub fare and all in all it’s an ok place to stay if you’re on a budget. My room had a duff remote control which I notified reception about right away. Although it was never fixed or replaced, I did get money... More
