We booked a spa room with steam shower for a night away for a wee change. Jean and Derek are most welcoming and friendly. We had a beautiful room with a stunning view of Aboyne Loch plus we used the steam shower which was amazing. Nice lounge/bar area where we enjoyed wine & beer. Comfortable bed & excellent breakfast was... More

I booked a couple of days break away for my wife and I to get away from day to day life and the lodge on the loch provided exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the spa bath suite and it was brilliant as the hot tub was a door opening away from our room as was the... More

Quirky hotel in an area where there is a lot to see and do. Loved having a room with such a view. Restaurant also has lovely views. The chef prepared very good dinners. Enjoyed the 9-hole golf course.

We stayed on a spur of the moment 'get away' from Aberdeen. Derek and Jean couldn't have been more friendly. Check in was qquick and Jean showed us our room. The room itself was lovely with a superb view. Well turned out. Spotlessly clean. Decent size room. Nicely decorated. Our evening meal was exactly right and just what we needed.... More

Let me start with the positives: 1. great view. 2. good choice for breakfast though cheap bread is a real no-no in this day and age. 3. excellent housekeeping. Now the rest of the review: we were so excited to arrive at the Lodge having taken from the website that we were in for a treat at a luxury spa... More

We stayed at the lodge for 3 nights in a superior twin room. We felt upon seeing the room that it was overpriced for the size. Arrived to find that the room had not been made up as a twin although this was on our booking confirmation. When unpacking there were only three hangers in the wardrobe. These items were... More

We were a bit early for checkin, so we did some local exploring driving to Balleter, another small village with the same sort of attributes as many others, but they had turned their old railway station into an information centre and museum. Queen Victoria was memorialised in the station because the royal train once stopped here on its way back... More
