we have just stayed here at the weekend on a recommendation from other friends who stayed here. Im glad we took their advice and tried the weekend here ,we will definitely be back Derek and Jean made us most welcome and advised us of places to eat and visit. Normally when we are away for the weekends, we like to... More

Tranquil setting beside the loch, though there is a caravan site adjacent but almost hidden by trees. No-one at reception on our arrival or a bell for service, so had to find staff member to check in, but staff pleasant enough. Comfortable room (superior) with lovely views across the loch, Difficult to open the French doors - only source of... More

Like many of the reviews about this hotel, we have to agree that we felt we inconvenienced the management team by being there. We arrived to a completely empty hotel with washing hanging outside and a feeling as if it was someones home rather than a hotel. The staff were pleasant enough but the whole place had a very strange,... More

We stayed here for a long weekend and had a fantastic time. The location of the lodge is absolutely perfect for what we were looking for - peace and quiet, with easy access to the stunning areas around this part of Scotland. We enjoyed lots of the hikes around the area, in particular going around Loch Muick which is only... More

Most has already been written about this venue however I shall reiterate. My wife and I stayed in the gym suite, hold on I am just about to count the number of countries I have as passport stamps..... 37 yep 37 countries and I can honestly say that the view from our window/porch was one of the best in the... Beautiful location with views over the adjacent loch and to Lochnagar in the distance. Modern and quiet room, well appointed. Enjoyed using the hot tub after a day out. Good food and service, and good value.

We went to the Lodge on the Loch for a short romantic break and really enjoyed our stay. The surroundings are peaceful, the rooms were tidy, with a great view on the lake, and the owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. They gave us tips on some places to eat out at and best places for hiking.... More

For something that is a little different I would recommend this Lodge. It is not far from the town of Aboyne which at Highland Games time is packed to the roof with visitors. The Lodge has its own 9 hole golf course and is next to an 18 holer. The rooms were of great quality and I thought a bit... More

Made to feel like an inconvenience, not a guest, ruined my stay. although the location is lovely the staff just had no customer care and made you feel like you were an imposition. Unhelpful regarding anything i asked.

My wife and I both agreed that the Lodge on Aboyne Loch is one of the best venues we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. Everything was first class from start to finish. When you enter the reception area there is a sign saying 'You enter as strangers you leave as friends' nothing could be more accurate the... More
