Well, this is probably one of the most difficult reviews. Positives first: The location is absolutely amazing! Facing the Loch, with balcony facing the Loch, a spa overseeing the Loch, gym and sauna. We had the most amazing sunset over the Loch and it was really peacful and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Shower pressure was... More

My friend and I arrived at the lodge to go for a coffee and a walk up the hill (as we have done in the past). We were surprised to find the restaurant closed, so we just parked and walked up the hill anyway. On our return the owner (I presume) told us that it was private property, that they... More

I had visited the lodge on the loch as I wanted to book some rooms for the weekend of my wedding. As soon as I stepped through the door I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable and an inconvenience to the very rude woman who greeted me with a (as I can only describe it) huffy strict head teacher attitude... Lovely location. Immaculately clean and tidy. Very quiet - only a couple of people in. Everything being done by the owners, including the evening meals, which meant a bar menu only, which was disappointing, as food was of the oven chips and breaded fish variety. Consequently we only had one meal, and ate out elsewhere for our other two nights.... More

We booked a spa room with steam shower for a night away for a wee change. Jean and Derek are most welcoming and friendly. We had a beautiful room with a stunning view of Aboyne Loch plus we used the steam shower which was amazing. Nice lounge/bar area where we enjoyed wine & beer. Comfortable bed & excellent breakfast was... More

I booked a couple of days break away for my wife and I to get away from day to day life and the lodge on the loch provided exactly what we were looking for. We stayed in the spa bath suite and it was brilliant as the hot tub was a door opening away from our room as was the... More

Quirky hotel in an area where there is a lot to see and do. Loved having a room with such a view. Restaurant also has lovely views. The chef prepared very good dinners. Enjoyed the 9-hole golf course.

We stayed on a spur of the moment 'get away' from Aberdeen. Derek and Jean couldn't have been more friendly. Check in was qquick and Jean showed us our room. The room itself was lovely with a superb view. Well turned out. Spotlessly clean. Decent size room. Nicely decorated. Our evening meal was exactly right and just what we needed.... More
