Lovely comfortable room, great bed, loved the french doors and access to our own terrace. Went with Groupon deal and were made to feel very welcome unlike some places who can be a bit dismissive of these deals. Great food in bar, very good value for money. Staff were lovely. Generally very clean and would certainly return.

Stopped off for a light lunch, was met at the door by the proprietor. It was about 1pm on 10 April, but the place was very quiet. We were shown to a table and asked if we would like a drink from the bar. The menu was typically pub grub, from fish & chips to baked potatoes to hot sandwiches.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to attend a wedding nearby. The room was fine and though we were close to the road we weren't disturbed by any noise. Breakfast was lovely and although we didn't eat here the meals we saw whilst sat in the bar looked nice. It's a Short stroll into the town centre and local taxi... More

Stayed at the Red Well Inn from a voucher deal making the night very inexpensive, especially as two breakfasts and a bottle of wine was included! Greeted by a lovely young man who showed us the direction to our room. The room was good, essentials (well what I class as essentials) such as tea, coffee, kettle, towels, soap & shampoo... More

To be honest we only decided to stay here because of another kgb deal, which offered fantastic value for money. We were pleasantly surprised with The Red Well Inn, on arrival it didn't look over impressive from outside, but upon entering we were warmly greeted and shown to our room (No.8) which is a family room, though only my partner... What a wonderful place to stay - ideal location for exploring the tow, Bowes Museum, High force and other villages in the Northern Pennines. The food was excellent - rooms were exceptionally tidy, good car parking - its one of the few places I would take friends to for a short break. You owe it to yourselves to have a... More

The "average" rating is bordering on "good" - and this could easily be achieved by the owners spending a little on refreshing some of the decor and fittings. A clean and comfortable B&B with polite and helpful staff. For the money, it is perfectly good value.

Very friendly staff, fairly clean and tidy but could do with some modernising. Benefits from having a great restaurant. Location not exactly picturesque, but practical for sightseeing around the dales.
