Stayed here for 2 nights while walking the Pennine Way last October (only just got around to writing about it - sorry!) I only planned to stay for the one night initially, but because of a local cycle race the next day there was absolutely nowhere to stay in Middleton-in-Teesdale at all. When I explained my dilemma, Mike kindly offered... More

We were transferred to this B and B by the nearby Youth Hostel and were delighted with the result. Don't go here if you expect 5 star en-suite luxury but DO go here if you appreciate a warm welcome, clean and comfortable rooms, good food and the chance to see and talk about a working upland farm. Mike and Emma... More

We stayed here as a group of Scout Leaders who were supervising groups of children doing DofE Expeditions (they camped in the field!) I can not fault Emma and Michael's hospitality. They offer superb home cooked food, a really warm welcome and lovely comfy beds. We had our 2yr old son travelling with us and he loved it.

One of the best camping trips I have been on. Went for my brothers birthday and had a really good time, The owners were extremely accommodating as they allowed us to set up camp anywhere on their land and use all the facilities we could possibly need this included showers and toilets. Although if you have an issue with farm... More

Me and 6 other people stayed here on Bank Holiday Sunday. We were travelling there to camp and the couple who own the farm are absolutely lovely! More than accommodating. They said that the door was open all night if we needed anything (use the toilet, shower etc.) and we thought that was great. They said that we could pitch... More

A good value B&B for our overnight stay on the Pennine Way. It is very much a working hill farm with livestock all around but Mike and Emma make you feel very welcome and part of the farm. You can make tea and coffee in the kitchen whenever you like and have use of own lounge. Rooms were large airy... More

We stayed here as party of 9 ( adults and children).. what a great couple who run the farm , excellent hosts!! They welcomed us into their home come business and could not have offered more or being more accomodating. We were aksed what time we wanted our breakfast cooking in the morning ( a full cooked English for everyone... More

The couple who own this farm are so welcoming and are two really nice people, they went out of their way to make us feel at home, even though we were only camping in one of their fields! They cooked us breakfast (a very, very well spent £5) and they let us use their facilities (I even had the luxury... More

Had the misfortune of staying here one night. Hosts arrived 2 hours after check in time and completely ignored us. Bathrooms downstairs (bedrooms upstairs) seem to double as the owners bathrooms as well - unclean. Entrance was very "working farm" and not for the fainthearted with numerous animals and their dropping around the place - very dirty. Certainty not a... More

Stayed one night during the Pennine Way. It's a short distance uphill off the path, just past the youth hostel. I had some difficulty finding the door and walked through a pen with a young calf in it - the adventure began! Another guest found her way in around the back of the house - apparently there's no "right" way... More
