It has a glourious location, and is certainly a welcome sight when ccoming to an end of a walk or a hilly bit of a walk. Good and unpretencious pub, good local beer , hearty food and warm welcome, Look forward to returning.

Friendly staff and a good selection of food - whitebait excellent. It's great to sit outside but when we went the weather was against us and we chose the only table left next to the kitchen entrance. All very busy and professional but sad to see large jars of 'Uncle Bens' sauce which spoils the illusion of home cooked food.... More

Thank you for your comments and i'm pleased that you enjoyed your visit and your meal with us. I just wanted to reassure you that the Uncle Ben's sauce that you saw was just a sweet chilli dipping sauce, which is the only one we use. We also batter all the fish ourselves in homemade beer batter. We hope that... More

Stayed for a couple of nights after a gap of 40 years and had a really good room, all modernised, with a sofa in the bow window loking at the rocks and over to Lundy Island. Everybody busy, with bar/restaurant crowded, but all staff helpful and polite. And amazing setting and scenary

Hartland Quay hotel is a lovely down to earth Ocean view place to stay, The rooms are clean and comfortable and single rooms with no single supplement. The single room I- stayed in did have an en-suite. I believe there is another single room with out one but I was given a choice of en-suite room or not Breakfast choice... More

This is the only hotel available in Hartland Quay and because of this I think they haven't refurbished it even though it is in desperate need. The location is outstanding, but the hotel is dated. The room was small, the windows weren't double glazed so it was noisy all the time, and there was no en suite. This wouldn't be... More

We stayed a week in the annex 'The Cottage', which is across the road from the hotel. The cottage is very spacious with 2 bathrooms comprising of shower room and a bathroom. 3 bedrooms, 2 double rooms on the ground floor with beautiful seaviews and a family bedroom with a double and single bed and living room upstairs with a... We used the Hartland Quay Hotel as our base for two nights while walking the SW Coast Path (and taking a break to relax, see Hartland Abbey, and generally enjoy the extraordinarily beautiful surroundings). We found the rooms utilitarian but clean and well-appointed (towels, bedside tables with lamps, tea makings, etc), the food in the restaurant and at breakfast varied... More

If you are doing the South West Coast Path, this hotel is a brilliant place to stay: it's perfectly situated as an overnight stop on the way from Clovelly to Bude and caters really well for walkers. The bay is fabulous and if you are lucky, as we were, sunset is a sight to behold. The pub does some good... More

Sat over looking the bay, we had a delicious cream tea. Well worth the visit for the views. Dramatic as the waves hit the rocks, but I would love to see the sea rolling in and crash into the bay's and cliffs. Free parking when we visited and a nice gift shop selling local jams and chutneys as well as... More

We ate here twice over the weekend. Both times the food was lovely, Sunday we had a roast dinner which was properly one of the best we have had in a while. We had a 10 month old baby with us and they were very accommodating. Staff were friendly. The view is stunning.
