A lovely location for a peaceful break. The room was clean and tidy and the pub nearby served local ale and good food. The breakfast was superb. Local sausages and thick bacon. The location makes it easy to get to other attractions such as Bude and Clovelly. My wife and I will certainly come back again.

I stayed in March 15 and paid £50 / night B&B. This is a small, family run, country hotel, it is everything it should be and more. There is ample free parking right by the hotel. A bell at reception was answered promptly by a friendly, cheerful and efficient member of staff. My room on the first floor was spacious... More

Popped in for warming drinks and nibbles on a fresh February morning. Polite courteous and great service. Drinks were all served with a smile and offered good value for money. We loved learning about the history of Hartland Quay and the fact that it had its own bank in the early 1800's.

Took the day off to have a look at a property in Devon and ended up here for lunch.Never been before and what a setting for a hotel and pub. Rugged coast, lonely, well it was out of season, and as you walk through the door, friendly and welcoming. We had the local beer and hot mulled wine and ham... More

Having seen the mixed reviews I was wondering what to expect - but I needn't have worried. My room was clean, warm and extremely comfortable. I also enjoyed a decent breakfast and evening meal. The views are stunning - great location for photography! Overall, I recommend it

The Hartland Quay Hotel is a great place to visit, but it needs a few upgrades! The staff are nice, the location is amazing - right on the side of the cliffs and overlooking the sea and the staff are nice and down to earth. I saw pictures of this pub/hotel and thought it looked breathtaking, old and interesting. So,... More

Reasonable accommodation in a fabulous spot. Good service and okay food , rooms are a tad tired but comfortable. Seen all the stuff about flies but that's what you get on the coast ....Would stay again

Called today at 1424 to be told after ordering a drink that food was finished despite there being a sign clearly stating it was available till 1430. Packed lunch and ignore the pub for my next visit. It was also very tired looking inside.

We're really sorry about your disappointing visit to the Quay. We were completely in the wrong and we have had a discussion with all the staff to make sure that this does not happen again. We do have to be quite strict on finishing times for food as the same staff have to be back at work by 5.45 for... More

This historic hotel is in an amazing position surrounded on three sides by crashing waves and dramatic slate grey rocks. It was a custom house in the 19th century before being converted to a hotel. Run by a local family and owned by aristo Sir Hugh George Copplestone Bampfylde Stucley, the hotel is in a wonderful location if you like... More

We stayed at this hotel as a stop gap on a long drive back and I had fond memories of the area from about 13 years ago. I thought the price of the room was high (£100 a night) but the view was very good (as I knew it would be). The food (both at breakfast and for a meal... More
