It's a shame Trip Advisor offers no rating between the rather stingy-sounding 'average' and 'very good'. The King's Arms (also known as The Inn On the Quay') is a lovely old pub that offers decent, good value accommodation. As to the pub: good solid home cooking, real ale, an amazing selection of wines and an even more mind-boggling array of... More

If you are in Bideford and looking for really good pub grub, than go no further thast The King's Arms. Nice options on the menu and the food is presented and cooked perfectly. Great beer too. Have stayed in their accommodation on a different trip and highly recommend that too. Very clean and comfortable.

We were told about this inn by our friends in Bideford. I was surprised it wasn't in any of the hotel comparison websites like booking.com or Laterooms, as it is in a great location on the riverfront. It is also good for pubs/restaurants nearby- well within walking distance to most night time places of interest. The pub itself is very... More

I stayed for one night only on business, and I prefer B & B place to the more corporate styled hotels. Very friendly welcome, you have to pay up front due to people who have previously abused the system, but this was not a problem. Room was fairly basic, but warm, the bed was comfortable, had tea and coffee, TV/Radio... More

It was our first time to Bideford and if you're looking for a quaint 500 year old pub with great traditional food and excellent, friendly staff, then pop into the Kings Arms. Haven't seen the rooms yet but will definitely give them a chance next time we come!

Good Sunday lunch. Lots of gravy. Excellent lication. Very good range of ales, a couple of ciders . Limited choice of lagers - all predictable. Staff very friendly, good service, would come back again. Did I mention the gravy?

A real traditional over-the-pub feel to the rooms which had everything you needed in them and were quirky and unconventional and therefore a nice change. The breakfast was delicious but as previous reviews have pointed out, the situation (right opposite the carpark where the local boy racers meet up late into the night) means you can't sleep with the windows... We stayed in this B&B on a Saturday night, which was a mistake. The room was comfortable and clean, and the breakfast perfectly satisfactory. Unfortunately, our room was over the pub and the main street, and the clientele were not quiet when drinking or when leaving! The music stopped at 11pm, but we were kept awake for ages afterwards by... More
