I stayed here with my 2 sons in the family room. The room was very dated and the decor very old. It was in desperate need of updating. This is the first time I have found a radiator within a wardrobe! The staff were very friendly and the landlady made sure our bicycles were put within the safety of the... More

Called in for our breakfast on a short trip to Bideford, staff were so friendly and polite. Breakfast came steaming hot an cooked perfectly, we enjoyed that much we nipped back a few days later before setting off home. A must try for anyone and we will be dropping in for lunch on our next visit.

This is a traditional pub that has a few rooms upstairs. If you are looking for a posh hotel with lots of service, this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a fascinating place to stay with crooked walls, winding stairs, and brimming with a sense of history for a pretty good price, this is... More

Oh dear, thus is a lovely proper pub, well kept beers, and welcoming bar staff. It was quiet, we only ordered two sandwiches and two lite bites, but 35 minutes later they still hadn't appeared. The sandwiches were quite nice eventually, but the camembert bites are to be avoided. Clearly something seriously wrong in the kitchen, let the side down... More

The beer is always on top form. The clientele can be a bit strange but there harmless enough. I've not tried the food for about 5 years so I'm not commenting on what it's like. The menu looks like the pub belongs to a chain but of course it doesn't which is a surprise that they would want it to... More

The three (?) small rooms are very comfortable, but can get a little noisy on a Friday/Sat night. If you're expecting 5 star comfort, this is not the place for you - the rooms are clean and comfortable, but they are pub rooms. Keep your expectations in line with the reality and you'll be fine. The staff were fantastic -... More

i recently held my 70th birthday party here. We had a buffet for 20 in a private room. The food was absolutely wonderful and the service could not have been better. We had waitresses serving the food an drinks and they could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, they were so friendly and attentive. And the... More

Dropped into The Kings Arms for a snack. The friendly staff were happy for us to bring our two well behaved dogs into the bar. We all ordered a sandwich with tea or coffee. The bread was very tasty and fresh and from my point of view the coffee was excellent. Next time I'm here I will have to try... More

In such a historic and atmospheric pub, right in the middle of the town, I was hoping for a decent Sunday roast. It was pretty substantial, but in terms of quality it was basically a step up from Wetherspoons and no more - the usual plain-boiled veg, overcooked beef, and plastic potatoes. The staff were friendly and attentive.
