The new owners of this quiet small hotel are renovating this autumn, but all rooms are a delight . Staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. However the real pleasure was the restaurant, the food was a revelation . It was equally as good as some Michelin starred establishments of some renown.

Had a lovely couple of nights at Yeoldon House last week in one of their river view rooms with private balcony (Kingsley room). The new owners John and Ilona were very welcoming and have already made a number of great improvements to the property in particular the beds which I found really comfortable. We ordered room service for breakfast and... More

A wonderful small characterful Edwardian hotel set above the river Torridge. First class dining and very attentive staff could not have made our stay any better. We had a delightful room, and, despite the new owners only being there for 3 weeks we couldn't believe they had not been there for much longer.. The new owners hope to gradually restore... More

A good 'out of the way' location with views across the River Torridge. A building full of character and History and the new Owners hope to restore some more of its historic character. My wife and i felt welcomed and at home - nothing was too much trouble for the Owners and willing staff. Good food with a young chef... More

Set in beautiful gardens overlooking the river Torridge with rolling Devonshire hills as a back drop, Yeoldon House Hotel is a small hotel offering first class accommodation. The restaurant, although small, offers cuisine on a parallel with anything seen on Masterchef. The new owners provide a friendly and warm welcome to all and do everything to make your stay memorable.

A total of 18 people stayed at the Yeoldon over the weekend to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had booked the hotel some time ago when it was under a different ownership. We were a little concerned when, close to the date we had booked, we were informed that the hotel had been sold. I needn't have worried. Ilona, the... More

Stayed here for one night on business in February. The hotel proprietor had contacted us in advance to let us know that the restaurant shut at 8pm, so as we were arriving late we ate at a local restaurant before checking in. When we finally arrive, we were warmly welcomed and quickly checked in and welcomed to our rooms. The... More

We stayed at the Yeoldon House Hotel for one night - we were given an upgraded room, no extra charge, with lovely views and balcony. Everything was spotless, we were made to feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic. the new owners have only been there 6 weeks, so we haven't marked it as excellent as there are... We headed to North Devon for a quick weekend visit to look at properties, and booked the Yeoldon House Hotel due to its good location for our area of interest. We hadn't stayed before nor were aware when we booked that the hotel had recently been taken over by new owners. When we arrived mid-afternoon in between property viewings we... More

The hotel has recently changed hands and when went there the new owners had only been there 5 weeks so the likely improvements were going to be service and items that could be done quickly. The important changes were new beds and pillows which were a great success. It was the most comfortable hotel bed we have slept in for... More
