We stayed at the Cottage Lodge for one night in the Boulderwood Room. We were fully aware that this would be a small room, but as it was just for one night, it was perfect. Being in the New Forest, we weren't intending to spend any significant amount of time in the room anyway. It was a bright room, with... more
We have just returned from our short stay at the cottage lodge and it was a most enjoyable break, in short the setting was lovely the staff were very welcoming and our room was warm and cosy. All in all a lovely place to visit. Roy mc more
Having stayed in a number of B and B's in the New Forest area, I can assure you that they don't come any better than this. I don't recognise the critical reviews and wonder if they were at the same establishment (or totally objective). The welcome was warm, the room ideal and the full english breakfast restored faith in a... more
On arrival, we found Brockenhurst just as we had remembered as children on holiday, a quaint little village with a pony grazing outside the bank!! We had a lovely stay in the hotel - greeted with a complimentary cup of tea and biscuits, which we thought was a particularly nice touch. There was plenty of information on the surrounding amenities,... more
Stayed for three nights in a room called Mills. We thought £30 per person per night B and B very reasonable. The room was spotless and very well appointed. Having grown very tired of British hotels which, in general, are grubby, past their best and run by people who couldn't care less, it was a refreshing change to find somewhere... more
This establishment has a 5 diamond award from the AA, but we couldn’t understand why. It does not seem to care about its guests. It could not cope with the number of rooms and guests it had, in terms of cleaning and maintaining the rooms, providing 5 diamond AA accommodation, a quality breakfast or service. The place was run by... more
I am sorry you were unhappy with your stay. As you can see from other reviews we try hard to ensure everyone is catered for to a high standard but clearly we failed in your case. On the dates you visited we were having a short holiday with our small children. Our relief manager's house caught fire. Because we were...
Having read plenty of reviews on this website on Cottage Lodge and been convinced it was a quaint and romantic getaway, I booked it for me and my partner for Valentines weekend. However, we were extremely disappointed when we arrived to discover Cottage Lodge was on a busy main road in the middle of Brockenhurst with a petrol station next... more
What a shame you didn't share your thoughts with us. Customer comfort is out first concern and we would have been delighted to have provided you with a heater for your room. I am sorry you felt our location was not to your liking. We feel we are lucky to be located in the middle of a thriving village. It...
I booked a weekend away for my husbands birthday at the Cottage Lodge in Brockenhurst. We had a brilliant time. The room/lodge was clean, well run and everyone there was super friendly. They even gave him a birthday card and present! I was thoroughly impressed with their effort to support the local produce/farmers and run the B&B in an environmentally... more
Lovely B&B - very clean rooms and delicious breakfast made with local produce. Service was excellent - the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and provided tea and cakes as a treat for not bringing a car. There is certainly no need to bring a car - Brockenhurst rail station is superbly connected and close... more
